The buzz of victory made for a restless night. Started thinking about my 40 years of following this wonderful program and how each coach since Staak has taken us to a new level of success culminating with this years team setting all the records. Got to thinking about all the amazing players that have made this steady rise possible and thought what would an X Mount Rushmore look like. Mine would be Hicks, Larkin, West to start, and saving Lincoln's spot for one of the guys on this team..........it is a great day to be a Muskie!!!!

Are you wanting players only? If not there are a couple figures who at least warrant a conversation.

Well Larkin and West are a must I think, but the other 2 spots would make for really interesting conversation. I personally would choose 4 X players, so Coach Mack would fit the bill nicely and be a well deserved Lincoln!

I agree about West and Larkin being musts. It could go a number of ways after that.

Although Pete Gillen's mug carved in imaginary stone would be too cool in Teddy Roosevelt's spot!!!

Why limit this to a mountain? Let's do a Xavier Ridgeline!

I view Anthony Hicks as THE guy that got it all started. I was at the MCC championship vs the Purple Aces in Evansville when he was a senior. Most hostile fans I ever encountered. Hicks led us to victory in that hellhole and I believe our 1st NCAA bid. So he definitely gets a spot for that. I think that was the year X lost to Alcorn St in a play in game. (Maybe it was Lamar?)

It was Alcorn State at the UDump Arena. It was the second NCAA berth in school history. The first was back in 1963, I think.

All good suggestions, but how can you not get someone, at least two, from the team that knocked off Georgetown in Indy? That's the game that put XU on the map.
Hill and who? Derek, Jamal??
Maybe just Gillen

I still love me some Stan Burrell. Was a helluva scorer with over 1,600 points but gave all that up to be a true lockdown defender and leader in his Senior year to get the team to an Elite 8.
