...Xavier is smart and together and highly well coached. Players mostly stay on Victory Parkway long enough to get their degrees. Those that don’t maybe wish they had. Unless it’s more fun playing in Italy for modest money than at a sold-out looney bin like Cintas Center in the Biggest Regular Season Game Ever.

I'm just shaking my head. This is why I ignore the media.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious about what the rest of the article said, but that's the point. That's what they do. I'm not opening the link simply because I don't want to send any traffic his way.
If you're gonna take a shot at someone or something, make sure it's both cheap and irrelevant! I guess that's what they teach at journalism school. It's important to mention someone or something that has nothing to do with the game when writing about the game.

What a brilliant writer Doc is!
Yeah, no. He sucks.

I did not get past the first line:
"It’s time to put on your high-heeled sneakers, people, and embrace the Madness."
If those are metaphors, it is not mixing, it is ax-murdering them.

...Xavier is smart and together and highly well coached.
Which begs the question...what is a "lowly" well coached team?
He's a clown, making modest money, writing average blog-style pieces, for a sinking ship of a newspaper. And he picks on Semaj's career? Laughable.

Let's see...
1. Make a few hundred K and have blast living and experiencing life overseas
2. Play for free in Cincinnati
I think I'll choose 1 Doc. What a clown

A journalist making fun of anyone else's profession is laughable. I hope those student loan payments are manageable...

I posted this in another thread but want to reiterate it: Jesus Christ... Shit like that is why I haven't read Doc in years. F*ck him. I'd much rather have Semaj's life than his piss poor existence.

I just don't even understand the rationale of that cheapshot.
Just sent this to that clown:
Doc,
Villanova isn't Jesuit. Was that just a guess? Pretty sloppy work here:
The schools are similar. Small, private, Jesuit, huge emphasis on basketball as sport, marketer and publicist. Each in the suburbs of a big city, ‘Nova cozy on the well-to-do Main Line of Philly, X on the slightly ragged edges here.
Also, your subtle slight to Semaj Christon was petty and unnecessary. But whatever...

If you say so. I'd still rather play basketball in Italy than be a journalist in Cincinnati.

I'm sure Xeus will get a snarky reply from Daugherty and I'm even more sure that Xeus will share it with the rest of the class.

He's written glowingly about us all year. This hardly seems like the "gotcha" takedown you think it is.

Apparently he will while insulting his reader.

Huh? I don't think it's a "gotcha takedown" - it was a secondary point to my main criticism, which is that he referred to Nova as Jesuit school.
totally. I bet Semaj cares very little about that dig.
I guarantee you Semaj hasn't even read it. But as I wrote in my email, it was an unnecessary and petty comment by Doc.

You're right, but having said that I honestly wouldn't send him anything at all. They want traffic and feedback, and bad traffic and bad feedback is still traffic and feedback.
The best thing you can do is just ignore it. Don't link it. Don't respond to it. Don't draw attention to it. Just pretend that it isn't there. This thread is actually feeding in to exactly what they want. And, admittedly, I'm feeding in to this thread by responding to it, so I'm just as much a part of giving him what he wants as anyone else. Really, though. It's best to just ignore it.
QUESTION: If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound??
ANSWER: If no one is there to hear it, then it doesn't matter if it makes a sound or not.
Just ignore him. Don't listen to the sound he's trying to make. If a website's only reader is the guy who writes for it, then it doesn't matter.

I am not reading it either. Playing professional basketball overseas in your 20's and making six figures really sounds horrible! I mean you could alway swork in cubicle. (sarcasm font)

Yeah, that just seems like such a weird thing to go out of your way to call someone out for. Was it just a guess? I mean, yeah, probably...wasn't it just taken from a blog post? Seems like a very simple and small mistake to demand accountability on.

His shot at Semaj was probably his way of burying a backhanded slap at Xavier because we didn't produce an NBA ready product.
Course his boy "Killa" can't get out of the DLeague.
