I guess SJU was #1 when we played them at the dump in 2004.

Those two OT losses - UMASS and tOSU - both still smart. The OSU game, like the Reds 2012 playoffs, will be with me until I leave the earth.

You had to guess that they were?!? I mean, I can't imagine a Xavier fan not knowing that.

On the other hand, I had completely forgotten about the game in Tuscaloosa even though I was there.

Yeah seriously.

That game was during the day right?I remember skipping high school to go. At least leaving early.

My buddy's little bro caught Jameer Nelson's shoe he threw into the stands after walking off like a baby.

OSU loss is the toughest one ever.Came soooo close vs UMASS.That would have been a huge upset.

I don't think it was clarified in a previous thread. A poster had mentioned SJU wasn't #1 so this was just a clarification. Snipe had correctly alluded to the #1 ranking but there was no data to substantiate the claim. I went to all four games at the dump and I do remember the #1 ranking.

Yes, I think the game was at noon or thereabouts. Amazing game. Almost surreal as it was happening.

Yes, the game was at Noon at the Dump. Pimpinthebox and I took the afternoon off from work and cruised up 75 and watched in utter amazement as we totally motorboated the Hawks that day. The Cryer faithful in their red sweatervests were in full force cheering for St Joe's. It was glorious to beat the #1 team in the country on the Cryers own floor. Only hope we can get the same result tonight!

When St, Joe's played at Xavier in the regular season they were ranked 6th. When they played in the conference tourney St. Joe's had just become ranked #1.

Jameer Nelson was a MASSIVE baby that day. I remember Doellman blocking his shot at the rim, and Nelson took a dive and laid there like he was hurt. When the ball reached the other end, the officials blew the play dead due to a player down, and immediately, Nelson got up, ran down the floor, and got in Doellman's face. Nelson and St. Joe's were beyond frustrated that day. It was awesome.

74-37 at one point will do that.

Duke/Elite 8/2004 hurts me more.
