Here we are, a game against #1 in the Nation. Oddly enough, I think we control our own destiny. That used to mean that we could win the Conference Title, and that nobody could stop us.

It doesn’t mean that right now. Nova does control their own destiny, and they do so will a bullet. They are a formidable opponent. Good for them. It will only make it sweeter. They are the reason that we joined the Big East Conference. Sadly, it wasn’t Butler after all.
We are #5 in the nation, and we have #1 on our home floor. We can win this game. Not just win this game but win this game convincingly.

I don’t think that any regular season game has matched this amount of hype for quite some time.
I look forward to tonight’s game, and I believe it will be a seminal point in Xavier History.

Villanova is awesome to say the least. They are currently the consensus pick to be the best team in the nation. They deserve it.
It we win this game we are on an inside track to get a #1 seed. Not that it matters.

I think today will not only be the day that we first beat Nova, it will be the first day that we started the streak. And streak it will be….

Once we decipher the code of beating Villanova, I plan to make them our bitch.

I can't focus on anything at work... I'm just thinking of all the great memories I've had as a Xavier fan over and over and getting more psyched. David F. West returning ... "#1 in the country, #2 in their own city!" ... The Run ... "Do it B.J., do it!" ... And of course, the one thing that might raise my sword for X more than anything... Stan the Man's epic "I've got champions in that locker room!" destruction of the A10 media. Man, that was awesome. I've had a lot of fun as a Xavier fan, and I can't wait to add another highlight to the reel.

Ultimately, I know this game lacks the importance of deciding the regular season champion, it alone does not determine the success of the season, and yes... if we got into a "would-you-rather" scenario of this game or tournament success, I would choose the tournament every time. But we don't have to choose! I WANT THIS GAME... I WANT IT ALL. And as much as it means to me as a fan, I know it means a lot more to the guys actually wearing the jerseys. 0-6 against these jokers since joining the BEast. I don't care if Nova fans see this type of post and think we're "small time" or treating this as our Super Bowl... f*** that. There might be bigger fish to fry, but for right now, it's just the facts--Nova has been punking us since we joined the BEast, and it ends tonight! It's time... it is OUR time. Tonight we ride!
