If X wins out regular season (i.e. beats Villanova and Creighton) I think we can state that we are the only team in the country to beat every team on our schedule.

No mean feat. Good luck on Wednesday.

If we win out, that puts X at 30-3, which would virtually guarantee a #1 seed. It may even bump us to the 2nd or 3rd qualifier among 1-seeds, which would mean we wouldn't be stuck in the most difficult bracket.

If we win out and finish 30-3 we will be the number 1 overall seed. How could we not be? Especially if that includes 2 wins over Nova.

Edit: I guess unless Kansas or Virginia win out all the way too then maybe not.

X has had such a great year I think it would be cool to say that (alone in the USA) we beat everyone we played -- at least once. That gives us another shot in the BE tourney too but we won't need it!

Big hello to Snipe, Kahns and Garvin.

Yeah, if Xavier wins out, there's basically no way they are just the last four seed. Only one of Kansas and Oklahoma could possibly be ahead of them and only Virginia outside of that. Those schools would also have to win out. Villanova would be behind by virtue of a weaker noncon and not winning the BET. No one else has the combination of current resume and future opportunities.

Virginia lost to Miami tonight, which obviously helps. In fact, if X sweeps Nova and Seton Hall this week, they could very well jump to #3 in the polls, or even #2 if Oklahoma loses at Texas on Saturday (which I half expect). Kansas has 4 remaining regular season games, two of which are road games against top-25 teams (Baylor, Texas) and a home game against 13th ranked Iowa State. I expect them to lose at least one. If it's at Baylor on Saturday, and all the cards fall into place, it could be a historical week for X.

Even if we win out, there is no way in hell they will give us the overall #1.

Yeah, I know our numbers...they just won't do it.

Why?

I think "bias" is drudy's implied argument ...

Correct...bias comes in as well as the winner of the Big 12 is gonna be the overall #1, and frankly, they deserve to be. Hands down the best conference in the country this year. There's is zero chance they put us ahead of the best Big 12 team, regardless of record. Not gonna happen.

Commie Kevin KFX!

I would love to say that we beat every team on our Schedule!

I agree, unless Kansas and Oklahoma both lose multiple games and fail to win the Big 12 tourney ... which I find highly, highly unlikely.

Winner of Big12 I get, bias not as much. I dont think the committee has any conspiracy theory against XU or the BE.

I love Commie Kevin KFX.

I hope he is going to New York City because I am taking my boys to the big city to see the Muskies wrap up the #1 seed at the Big East Tournament.

I never thought of this, much less made it a goal.

But once it is stated in those terms, that is exactly what I want to happen. I want to beat every single team on our schedule. And when we do, I want Chris Mack to talk some smack about that.

I owe a debt of gratitude to Commie Kevin KFX.

And to the uninitiated, he really is a commie with some serious Marxist literature on his bookshelf. I am not kidding about that. I remember my first visit to his place just looking agape at the volumes of tripe. I had heard about communists, but I had never actually met one. Well Commie KFX takes the volume to 11.

He may be a commie, but he is also a Muskie. He is a brother and I would take a bullet for that man.

I want to beat every team that we have played. That sounds delicious just to say it. It is almost like we are undefeated.

"We have beaten every team that we have played" Chris Mack said after the Senior Night victory over Creighton. I can't see how that is ever a bad sound bite, especially with a team with our mojo.

Back to the point though I think he is a Bernie Sanders commie. I want Kevin to know that I am going to vote for Bernie Sanders too.

Hopefully we have no repeat opponents in the NCAAs and can still say in April that we beat everyone we played.

I agree brother. I bet we would be the first team to do that in quite some time.

I glanced at a couple years. 2012 UK and 2008 Kansas both had one unavenged loss. The '99 UConn national champions did beat every team they played. There could be another one there, I didn't look at every year.

Yesterday was the first game of a 10 game winning streak...as pointed out to me by PM Thor.
