All in the eye of the beholder. Let's be honest, Seton hall and Providence were also rans in the expanded big East and did not see a way out. Now, people actually have started to pay attention to them. Nova was a solid team in the expanded big east, now they are king of the mountain.

I mean they lost syrcause, uconn, pitt, louisville etc. Those are some damn fine historic basketball programs. Yeah I mean clearly if they were performing better they wouldnt have the same view of the league as this sinking ship. Not sure if they think their recruiting has been affected or what, but other teams are recruiting just fine in the new set up of the BE.

I get some of the old teams like Georgetown having some disappointment about losing all those other programs but dont understand their thoughts on the league being terrible, etc. That just seems like frustration from fans who's team is having a bad year.

Georgetown just needs to start fresh and let JT3 go. Will never happen but it is a program that is simply stuck in neutral with no way of getting out.

Before the formation of the original BE lineup, and the exposure that ESPN and "Big Monday" brought, I would say that GT and some of those "historical" powers where not nearly as well known then, as they are now. In reality, before cable TV became the norm and ESPN was launched, most college sports broadcast on Saturday TV was regional in nature. National games tended to be fairly rare matchuls of regional powers...like a UCLA-Notre Dame game. The ACC was the dominate eastern league, and unless a team like a Providence made a run to the final 4, they didn't get much coverage or press...even in such national publications as Sports Illustrated. Longtime fans realize they owe the BE a lot, and shouldn't be complaining about it now. All the current league needs is a couple of years of good showing in the NCAA tourney and its prestige will be right back up where it once was.

I rewatched the game this morning and my amateur eye noticed several of the little things that you don't see the first time around. Most glaring was Jalen playing unselfishly. He set several box-out type screens for Ed to get to the hoop and seemed to be in good position a lot even if he didn't get the ball. The only miss was Macura wide open on the weak side for a 3.

You know, if they made the NCAA Tournament and actually advanced over other teams then I might listen more than what they have to say. Fact is, they have been flaming out for a long time...well before the changeover. They have been to six NCAA's since 2007 and haven't made a Sweet 16 in any of them. 2007 is way before the Catholic 7 split off.

The only sinking ship that they should be worried about is the one Captained by JT3. He's probably had more recruiting advantages a than anyone else in the league, and keeps misusing his talent.

Dude, I was talking about the last Nine Years of failure. The new Big East has only been around for less than 3 full.
The Georgetown fans are the ones bitching about the Big East being a sinking ship, and their ship has been sinking way before there was ever a split.

They have sucked in the tourney since 2007 (although they've generally made it at least) and underperformed under JTIII. At most schools with a basketball history as rich as GTown's the head coach would have been fired by now. I agree with all that.

I was just noting that they did reach the Final Four in 2007 -- just 8 tourneys ago. And as you've pointed out they've made the tourney 6 times since then.

I get context. I also understand how facts can be presented in a misleading way.

Seemed like it was just one or two guys.

On another note it is amazing the different perspectives of teams fans of the BE currently.

Xavier fans love this league. Gerogetown fans have called the BE "a sinking ship" and now think they are mid major. I'm sure most of that feeling is because they are not doing well. I'm sure some of the leftover schools to an extent dont like the league "weakened" by losing so many good bball programs, but if you ask Nova fan's I guarantee they love this current BE. Same with Providence and Seton Hall fans.

Alright. Yeah. I'll give you that. I didn't read that far back. If there are GTown fans who think the BE is a sinking ship they are morons. And regardless they necessarily would be at least a part of the problem. I see your point now.
