I imagine they probably think it is.

Think of it it terms of "who wants it more" - considering what has seemed like less-than-inspired play recently by the visiting team - I think there is an argument to be made that it might be a more important game for Butler.

p.s. I sure hope the boys prove me wrong and bring their "A" game. I would gladly concede the point, in that case.

I am still going money line on Butler. As much as I want Xavier to win they have been terrible lately and Butler will be up for this game. The end of this Big East schedule is awful as a Muskie fan.

It is actually nice to be an underdog. We were a 1 point favorite at Creighton and we lost. Winning this would be like the magic elixir coming back home. Exonerate the defeat at Creighton in one fell swoop.

I hate the fact that we don't control our own destiny, but it is a weird situation, because I want to be the team that dethrones #1 Villanova. So in some sense I might be rooting for them to stay #1, which is bad. Those bitches have no idea what is coming at the Cintas. To honor Pablo, we should rent a bus and once we beat Villanova we should get on the bus and go loot the City of Dayton. And I actually have no idea why that would make sense to a rational man, but thankfully I am not a rational man.

Gotta rebound the ball, so at this point I think you have to risk the man defense. Try, at least to wear them down some.
That being said, we've been called for 7 fouls so far and Butler, ZERO. That charge on Myles Davis was a terrible call. Guy was NOT set.

No, they don't. Butler did very well in the non-conference schedule. They can go 3-2 and be close to a lock to get in at 9-9 in conference. Considering their remaining schedule, that's very likely.

So weird to have another fan base routinely impugn our programs character especially considering the graduation rate and track record being impeccable for the most part outside of the crosstown brawl 5 years ago. Just exactly what I used to think about UC. I don't really see us being on that level. Weird.

I absolutely agree. I actually posted about that during the game. I think he's starting at least 3 seconds late (at about 6 seconds), leaving no room for error. And while it didn't hurt us in the long run, we put up contested shots and I don't recall us scoring on any of those possessions. I noticed LAJ handled the point the last few possessions (I think).

Also, they were flat out holding Blueitt off the ball the whole game (mostly jones, I think). Early on when it was 7-0...some of that made sense because they were attacking the lane and we were shooting threes, but as the game wore on...not one moving screen, not one off the ball hold. Terrible.

I am still going money line on Butler. As much as I want Xavier to win they have been terrible lately and Butler will be up for this game. The end of this Big East schedule is awful as a Muskie fan.

This might be the funniest post I've read in awhile. You do realize your team shot 50% from 3, mostly because there were WIDE open driving lanes all day, and you guys were getting lay-ups when you weren't kicking it out for three because of guys cutting to the basket who clearly weren't being held or just driving unimpeded to the basket. So you shoot 58% from 2, 50% from 3, shoot more foul shots than the team you're complaining was fouling the entire game, Butler has 15 more field goal attempts because of offensive rebounds and fewer turnovers, and the 2 teams wound up with the same amount of fouls called on them, you win by 17 and you are complaining about being fouled on every possession?!?! I'd hate to see what would have happened yesterday if you thought the game was called well both ways.

Overall, great game by you guys, and pretty much what I expected after you played terribly in Omaha. Hopefully someday it'll be a fair fight between the 2 teams, as I hope the 2016 class for Butler (their first in the Big East with a stable coaching situation) is a good sign of things to come. Personally I don't care if Macura dunks it with ten seconds left or ten minutes left. You don't want that to happen, play better and win. Good luck to you guys the rest of the way, and the way things are projected to finish out, we may be seeing you again at MSG for the Big East tournament.

Agreed Jones was virtually just constantly fouling Trevon to keep him out of rhythm. They called it once out top, but off the ball it was constant.

They had some major coaching upheaval. I have little doubt they can recruit at this level.

Stevens isn't there anymore. I don't think they can consistently win in the BE if they don't upgrade their recruiting. They can't consistently win if they have less talent than their competition.

P.S. I do see though that they had 3 top 150 Rivals guys in their last recruiting class, including one guy who was ranked 98. XU was after the guy ranked 98th. So it looks like they have picked up their recruiting some.
