View Full Version : Creighton Game Broadcast

The Nova-DePaul game apparently has broadcasting priority on FS1 tonight. ESPN is reporting that the X-Creighton game is on CBS Sports Network. What does that mean exactly? Does this just mean it's being televised locally on Channel 12? Or will it be on some cable channel that I don't have?

The game is being televised nationally on CBS Sports Network. Direct TV 221, Dish Network 158, and TWC 1322.

It's a real channel, 158 on DISH...typically has a ton of mid-major games (I believe the A10 must have a deal with them). But they are also the channel where BE games are pushed on week nights where there is more than one game in the same time slot as Prov-Marq is on tomorrow night.

Who the hell still has cable? What I want to know is can we watch it on their app by using someone else's cable account?

Why do we get stuck on this shitty CBS Sports channel ? It is a non standard sports channel on some cable systems and UVerse, and it is also seldom included in hotel cable systems. Traveling for business I have missed our CBS games. Plus I can't get CBS Sports on Uverse at home. I know it's no one else's problem, it just pisses me off.

As we've said every time this question comes up, Fox sublicenses a fixed number of games each year to CBS Sports Network.

One of the sad little ironies here is that it may garner a higher than normal rating that Xavier would get on FS1.

I don't suppose you have Verizon Fios, do you? I have Fios, as well as their sports package, but CBS Sports is inexplicably not included.

as poor a Fox Sports 1 announcers are, Steve Wolf is bad.

He annoys me personally. But some love him.

Sports is why I have DirecTV. The second it's cheaper to legally stream all of my sports is the second I drop the dish like a hot potato. Until then, it is the best option as I can't remember the last time I couldn't find a game I wanted to watch. I mean, I can even watch a fair number of Marshall games and the Herd has sucked at basketball since my time in school there.

I'm not paying for the next tier just to get this CBS Sports channel.
It would seem that our games could be scheduled so that FS1 could carry them all (he says without doing the math).

Are you telling me FX Sports can afford to send out a crew so that 25k people can watch tonight's game? Show it on one of your obscured channels. Sad sad sad

Being from Indy and without the package necessary to have CBSSN, I hope that the game is on Iheart radio since it isn't on WLW (which I can get on the radio). WKRC's site is pretty poor for future programming information.

I agree. I had to go to a bar in Fairfield to watch the DePaul game. Plus my wife would have to give up her Spanish channels to catch her soaps. She's not doing that. I guess it'll be Joe and Barry tonight.

I pay for the premium sports packages during basketball season. I pay for a lot of streaming subscriptions too. I can afford it, and I want to watch it, so I do it. If people are choosing not to pay for it, then that's their choice, but I don't feel sorry for them not getting to see it. At the end of the day it's less than eating out or having a few drinks at the bar. I wish we were on FS1 because I want more people to have access to it, but I don't feel sorry for people who are choosing not to watch it.

It is fun to watch Elmore, a nice little WV native, and watch D'Antoni, but man Marshall is BAD.

Any legal streams out there for those of us without that channel? Or are the backroad routes the only option?

Nope. CBS Sports Network doesn't have streaming via their app either, at least last time I checked.

This is exactly why I'm not bitching about this. If I could I would be at Dana's or some bar but I'm at work so the radio works just fine. Just like the old Andy Mac days.

Thanks for your lack of compassion about not being able to watch the game. I haven't eaten out since the beginning of October and I haven't been to a bar in more than 5 years. I am glad that you have enough money to afford those luxuries. Living on a budget isn't easy, but I'm glad that my girls have everything that they need. And I don't want you to feel sorry for me for not watching it. Maybe you normally don't come off as a judgemental person, but your comments just struck me the wrong way.

I'm quite sure that brew wasn't directing his comments at you. It seems clear to me that they are directed at those who expect a free video feed at their convenience, not those who appreciate the value of the radio play by play. I don't like to speak for others but I don't think you should take offense here.

What Kahns said. My comments weren't aimed at you or at people in your situation. I didn't really even see your posts when I wrote it. In fact I don't think I've ever seen any of your posts before, so I've never aimed any of my comments at you. It was aimed at people who can afford it, but choose not to pay for it, but then complain about how they don't get to see the game as if it's not being broadcast at all. It is being broadcast, and they can get it. They're just choosing not to, which is fine, but I don't feel sorry for them when they complain. You weren't complaining, and I wasn't referring to you.
