Love them, hate them, or whether or not you could care less, CNN is airing a documentary on the Eagles.

It has been fascinating. What you get, along with the obvious details on the band, is a fantastic look back into the 60s and 70s, and some of the influences that other bands and artists had on each other.

Part 2 coming up; about an hour left.

Have heard about, but haven't seen this documentary. I am a big Eagles fan. Loved them in the early years with Bernie Leadon (sp.) In the mid-80's I think they went a little too mainstream pop for my liking. Yet, I stayed true. Being a Joe Walsh fan from his James Gang days, I liked that he was a member and he brought to the Eagles sort of what Michael McDonald brought to Steely Dan, that is a newer sound at a time that The Eagles needed something different. In later years I think the group became a bit pretentious and into themselves, so though I lost track of them I never stopped being a fan. Have seen them in concert many times, the first of which was the UC Armory during our Xavier years. It was The Eagles and Dan Fogelberg for $5. So, there was no way I was willing to pay $150 to see the later year version of one of my favorite groups at a time when I thought they were allowing their personal feelings supplant the greatness that drew me to them in the early 1970's.

Bottom line, however. Love The Eagles and sad to lose Glenn.
