Glad to see CM get the credit he deserves for this year.

I think that Archie Miller up at vd deserves to be on the list. The cryers will be ranked next week, and they don't have any great players on that team. What Miller has been able to do the last couple of years, with very limited rosters, has been impressive.

I agree that he should be there but they're more talented this year than they were last year. Charles Cooke has taken on Sibert's role and has outperformed him, output wise. They also have an actual big man this year.

"Big Stevie", as cryer fans refer to him, should be called "Big Stiff". He's slow, unathletic, and can't score beyond the rim.

#2 is the guy we probably would have hired had we not hired Mack.

Not a fan of the guy, but he's a really good coach.

Hope Christopher is working on that extension and raise RIGHT NOW. Mack will have his pick of the litter in the offseason if he wants it or feels like he's not getting what he's earned here.

Christopher might need to have the checkbook ready again this offseason.

Saint Mary's has done absolutely nothing other than beat up on NIT teams at home. They did beat Gonzaga at home, but Gonzaga isn't exactly a road warrior this year. Yet, somehow he's on the list.
Chris Beard at Little Rock has done a much better job than Randy Bennett. So have about a dozen other coaches. Maybe more.

Why not get ahead of that? By all that I've seen, Mack's compensation comes in around 1MM. Wright and Thompson are in the 2.5MM range. He should be in the 2MM range IMHO.

Not unless Mack got a cut in pay recently. Mack was closer to $1.2M back in 2013 according to Xavier's IRS-990 form. I'm guessing he's making considerably more than that currently, and is in line for a nice raise again this year.

I dont know for sure, but at some point thought i saw that Mack was around $1.5 million.

Although this says it's from 2015, that can't be right...is it really possible Mick Cronin makes twice what Chris Mack makes?
If he doesn't make 2m, or damn close to it, it would not surprise me at all if he left for another job. It's time we pay him what a BE school should be paying a decent head coach.

Although ESPN's report is dated for 2015, for private schools they use 2012 tax returns. So that's not very current as far as what Mack made last year.
Private schools: Pay information came from federal tax returns. Documents provide compensation data for the 2012 calendar year, based on all income paid by the school or related organization, including benefits' perks and performance bonuses.
Holy crap- I did not know Arizona was paying Miller just about $3.5 mil.
The man is a good coach but he is not three times better than Mack. Heck, according to that ESPN article, he's not even better than Mack this year.
As much as I am not a fan of jacking up a coaches' salary to keep pace with other schools who foolishly keep upping the pay for their coach to truly exorbitant amounts (and often with little shown for the increase), I realize we need to make sure a coach who is delivering is being paid fairly.
So what is fairly? There may be some very well thought out reasons why X chooses not to (or can't afford to) pay their coach $2.5 million a year. According to that list of coaches salaries, Cooley was being paid about what Mack was being paid. You've got to think, if Mack can take X further in the tournament this year than Matta or Miller ever did, he will be deserving of more $. But hey, maybe Mack already does make more $ than we are imagining.

I don't know where they got their numbers, but they are not correct. They show Mack making 25% last year from what he made in 2013. I tend to believe the data submitted by schools to the IRS.

Yeah, as of now the only thing I am really worried about is if Louisville decides to separate itself from Rick and looks to Mack.

We need on of the 2 Koch guys to adopt X. The other one can keep paying Greg Marshall.
