@CoachChrisMack: Very sorry to hear about long time Xavier fan Paul Olding passing away yesterday. Over 50 years as a Xavier fan! Rest in Peace Paul...
I knew Paul Olding and his lovely wife Anna May. I met him at various Xavier functions both in Cincinnati and on the road. I've shared dinners with them. Paul was a contemporary of Dr. Bill Daily, served on Xavier's Athletic Board, was instrumental in keeping Xavier as a Division 1 program when Father Mulligan tried to diminish it, and was a season ticket holder for over 50 years. There was no bigger Xavier fan, alumnus or supporter than Paul. He even figured out how to post on the old message boards a few years ago as "Mr. O".
Paul was the true definition of a Gentleman and a Great Musketeer. I ask that everyone please offer a few prayers and a Mass if possible for Paul and the Olding family. I know that Paul will join up with Pablo, Matt, and Mr. Neutral at the next Xavier game watch party at the Paradise Country Club.
Safe Home Paul. You will be missed.

I happen to sit next to Mr O and his wife during an A-10 tournament game here in Cincy many years ago. I have met some great people in my time following Xavier basketball, but Mr O was the best. He had so many great stories, and always beamed when speaking about his Musketeers. Mr O was a class act.
His son has sat in front of me in section 104 since the Cintas Center open, but wasn't at the game last night. He never misses, and if he does, he always GIVES his tickets to friends and family. Those seats were empty last night and it now makes sense why he would miss such a big game.
Prayers to the Olding family, and may Paul rest in peace.

Another loss for the Xavier nation. Paul was a dear friend of the old guard, Big Jim, Eddie Biles, Baldyand especially to Barb and I. A zillion times times he'd stop by during the day to just say hi and visit. He never, ever second guess anyone r any game, would just always be a full throat guy supporting "the all for one" mission.
As noted MOR, there was never a finer gentlemen to cross our paths.
There is much sadness here in losing Mr "O" but somewhere high in God's Gardens, Xavier men have gathered to Welcome him with a "Hude" and will be singing the songs of Xavier.
Thank you Paul for sharing a part of your life with us and Pace Domini !

Funny we said the same thing. It was the trifecta and we didn't feel good about the game...Jalen lost the tip (he didn't jump), the fireworks didn't work on Xavier's side, and Vince (Mr. Olding's son) wasn't there. Now it makes sense.
Rest in peace, Mr. Olding.

I never had the pleasure to meet Mr. Olding, but know his son and some of his grandchildren well. By all accounts a great man and great Musketeer. Rest in peace Mr. Olding.
Met Mr. O once, but have heard about him over the years from 87 and others. A good man and a true fan. May they say that about all of us one day. RIP Mr. O.

I never had the pleasure to meet Paul, but it's very cool to hear about what an amazing supporter & key contributor he was to Xavier.
I thought it was great that both Byron and Joe paid tribute to Paul right before the start of the Seton Hall game. They had a ton of nice things to say, and I'm sure it was very much appreciated by the Olding family.
RIP!

It was kind of sad Saturday not seeing Paul and his wife sitting in their usual seats.
