View Full Version : How many teams will the A10 get?

It looks like there are 5 potential NCAA teams:

1. Xavier, 3 seed
2. Temple, 10 seed
3. St. Joes, 9 seed
4. Dayton, 11 seed
5. UMass, out

I am going to go on a limb and predict the A10 gets 4 teams in. I'll say Dayton will get in over UMass.

If the A10 is really the 7th best conference in the land, 4 is not too high a number. I know most are predicting 3, but I'll hope that the committee has more respect for the A10 than most.

As I said, I am going on a limb, but it is not that far fetched to see Dayton or UMass get in.

Lunardi has UMass as his 1st team out.

WarrenNolan has the A10 with 4 teams in.

So, it is certainly possible.

I'm comfortable believing that we have 3 in now: X, T and St. Joseph's.

If we're the 7th rated conference, UMass maybe, but I doubt it. UMass probably was about 2 losses away in the last couple weeks of being in themselves. Too bad.

I think 3 is a good number. I just don't see UMass getting in, especially now that Temple won the tourney. I'd be amazed if UD got in.

I can hear Jim Mora going, "Dayton? Dayton? Don't talk to me about Dayton."

Dayton's not going. I think they had a chance to be the third A10 bid, but I can't see the A10 getting 4. The committee says conference affiliation doesn't matter, but that's BS.

Does anyone know the lowest RPI team that didn't make the tourney? Could Dayton break that record?

I think Air Force was in the top 20 a couple years ago and didn't get in.

Missouri State two years ago had a lofty RPI around 20 and did not get in.

I think Dayton is in--their resume is better than most of their competition including wins over 6 or 7 teams that will be in the tourney.

I think Dayton has a better chance than most people think.

I honestly believe in what the Selection Committee publicly claims: how a team performs in their conference, alone, is irrelevant. Instead, they focus on everything.

Dayton has two great wins in Louisville and Pitt. The Selection Committee will be aware that Dayton started to struggle at around the same time that Wright was injured (and he's back). I think Dayton has a great case to be in the tourney.

When did this wright kid come back? I didn't see him play vs. XU??

I didn't see the UD XU game. I assumed he got some some playing time. But I guess not.

UD is now claiming he can play (that's what I just heard on ESPN radio).
