No one can match our depth, length, quickness, athleticism, speed and experience. Everyone needs to embrace how truly great we are.

I'm not ready to declare X the best in the nation, but this team is really, really good. And there is no doubt that this is team is among the best in the country.
And there is also no doubt- this team has size, athleticism, speed, depth, a bunch of guys who can shoot threes, a bunch of guys who simply have very good basketball skills, a bunch of guys who play hard, a bunch of guys who play well together, and a bunch of guys who are very unselfish. The player and ball movement on offense is really great to watch. The team is very well coached.
Let's keep rolling.

But still, you should support them like they are anyway. Hell, if we can't even get respect from our own fans we'll never get respected by the media or the country. Half the reason a lot of teams keep their relevance is that the fans get indignant when they don't see their teams getting love. Xavier should adopt that philosophy.

We're very good. I'm not saying our schedule has been weak by any means, but we haven't played a true top tier team yet. We've played some good teams and beat them.
We probably won't get that chance until the tournament (hopefully we get that chance), but that worries me a bit. Nothing much else to complain about.

Is this meant to be a joke?
Xavier has one of the most indignant fan bases around. Most of us despise Jay Bilas because he crapped on us 6 years ago during the selection show. Pretty sure that if he lived around here, we'd have organized a mob to burn his house to the ground.
We have entire threads dedicated to the lack of respect we get when we aren't ranked, when the A10 refused to acknowledge our greatness with postseason awards, when people mispronounce our name, whenever that jackass Paul Daugherty writes an "article", when we notice a slight before, during or after amy pregame or post game analysis, etc.
I'm 100% certain when Sean Miller dies, a Xavier contingent will be at the funeral driving buicks walking pet raccoons on leashes.
We're not indignant enough? I'd hate to see us if we were more indignant. We'd be like my mother-in-law; impossible to please and completely psychotic.

If we win the next three, I'd be hard pressed to argue that we're one of the best.
However, THE best? That remains to be seen. WE have one of the best resumes in the country but I'd like to see us go at Nova first. Winning at Wake and then at Nova will have me thinking otherwise.
I'm cautiously optimistic that we can win the next three. But I'll take 2-1 in a heartbeat. Losing at Nova and winning at Wake and home against Butler would have me still showing that we're a top 10 team easily.
I want a 2 seed. A 1 seed is a dream right now given how tough the Big East is. A 3 seed would be just fine (beggars cannot be choosers).
We're very good. I'm not saying our schedule has been weak by any means, but we haven't played a true top tier team yet. We've played some good teams and beat them.

This. Well, we have Butler, Nova and Providence on the road, those are top tier teams with good home arena support. If we win all those games, I'm ordering more koolade and buying a #1 foam finger. Win 2, I'll be demanding, demanding I say, more respect.
I know "No justice for X, no peace" appeals in certain quarters here. It's not relevant to me personally whether we're no 1 in a media poll. Watching one of the finest teams to ever put on Xavier units is its own reward.

Yea, although it's one game at a time, if it leads to wins at Wake, at Nova and Butler we are the best team in the nation. Not a doubt. That's a huge task though even for whoever the best in the nation is.

Yeah... I'm usually a pretty grounded guy when it comes to Xavier's expectations. But this team has me feeling a little different. I know there will likely still be 2-3 head scratching losses during this marathon. But what has me thinking a little differently this year is that in the last two games, I don't think X has played all that well. Those were a 10 point win against UC and a 24 point win against Auburn. They did what needed to be done....but can you imagine what would happen if the entire team started playing well? It may never happen...but if it does? I give this team a really good chance of doing something really special.

This team has looked amazing so far. That being said, we have soooooooo much room for improvement. If we can keep Jalen in less foul trouble, have Remy start shooting like he did the previous two years, see Edmond continue to develop over the next few months, etc. I could see us winding up being the best team in the country. Maybe not most talented, but best. I think we are just beginning to scratch the surface of this team. We have an exciting 3 and a half months to come!

Xavier is #10 in the Nation going into the weekend. We beat a "major conference" team by 24 points.
There was NO mention or story of the Xavier game on either CBS Sports.com or ESPN.com on their college basketball front page. If it was Gone-zaga or an ESPN a pimped AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAC property, it would be splashed all over the website and we'd probably be ranked #2 behind Michigan State this week.....but we won't be.
No matter what the hell we do, we NEVER get equal time. I don't know what the hell we have to do.

X had 3 OOC losses last year with no really good OOC wins, then went 9-9 in the conference and got a 6 seed. Our OOC resumé is dramatically better this year, so it stands to reason that a 9-9 conference finish would be better than a 6 seed. Obviously, that would be disappointing. My point is that the opportunity for a great seed is right there.

Last years committee also valued good wins much higher than losses (bad losses included). I dont know that 9-9 would yield the same results honestly...I also don't hope to find out.

There are teams that X should not lose to in conference if they want to be "elite'. Frankly, X should go 8-0 vs. St. Johns, DePaul, Creighton, and Georgetown. They should probably sweep Marquette and Seton Hall as well. This leaves Villanova, Butler, and Providence as the only teams that X could lose to at THEIR place and still reasonably expect to keep a high ranking. I recognize that Marquette and Seton Hall are good teams, but #1 seed teams BEAT those teams. I know there will be one or two losses that make no sense, but I am hoping the win that we're not expecting comes next week against Villanova.

On Saturday morning they went through the top 10 teams games for the weekend. We were on the top since we were playing the earliest. ESPN skipped over that game but managed to mention every other top 10 team's game. It was quite comical. They must be so pissed off about the BE no longer being affiliated with the World Wide Leader.
