I totally forgot Kareem Canty transferred into Auburn after playing one season at Marshall. His stats are rather ridiculous:

I honestly didn't even think X played that great today. Last 5 minutes of the first half and first 5 minutes of the second half were pretty sloppy. Still won by 24 against a decent opponent. I'll take it.

So, we had dinner and drinks at Arthur's in Hyde Park following the Auburn game. We have some X gear on and the couple next to us at the bar (in their 30's I'd say) asks us if we were at the game. We say yes, and the game was great. Somehow the leap is made, and and I have to explain that I hope UC wins every game left on their schedule, which is true. The guy says "yeah, only because it's better for you". Dumb point, I never said I was a convert. I mention my brother-in-law went to UC and he's a great guy and I'm happy when his team wins. Not good enough. This jackass is soon into "yeah, you see me sitting here". I wish it weren't true, but I do see him so respond along the lines of "yes, there you are". At this point my ex-roomie is wisely suggesting the barkeep call for the authorities and the wife is cutting him off from coming our way. This causes some concern on his part. We play it calm and just refuse to look in that direction until they box their food and leave. Anyone who knows me knows one more blow to the head will probably not matter much. The inconvenience of police reports and court dates would suck. I've never been in a bar fight (because I didn't go to UC?) but part of me......

So, to all the people who hate UC or Dayton to the bottom of your heart, I can now say I have a new understanding. This was like a middle school cafeteria situation.... With adults. Taking the high road was the best way to go, but part of me wishes I had made that last little acknowledgement that would have landed him in jail the weekend before Christmas. He can just go about living his sorry little life without any additional criminal record.

In fact, we tried to talk up UC and give his poor soul some relief. I have to say I've never had such an irrational interaction in my life (including middle school). And they looked like such normal people....

I don't give much of a rip about this rivalry, and as I've posted, I DO hope they win out. He hated me because I hope they win out for the wrong reason. And, of course, he was CRAZY!

The double foul was pretty bad. I think what happened is the official actually blew the whistle on Macura for holding. A stretch, but he definitely was reaching out torwards Dunans shoulders. Then the elbow happened and Macura went down. That's the ONLY way I can see what resulted. You can't go to the video and call a foul you hadn't already called....unless it is sort of a flagrant kind of situation...at least that's my understanding. Therefore, the initial foul must have been on JP. THAT SAID, what a bullshit call! How can they not see that Macura was being targeted? He was bumped numerous times by guys walking near him, but going out of the way to bump into him. A couple of plays before the double foul, that same guy (Dunans?) absolutely blew him up on a screen. How they didn't see that is beyond me. I know Macura likes to yap a bit, but holy shit, those guys were coming for him. I thought their bigs, by and large, came across as real punks.....from the looking to mess with JP to the slapping shots after whistles out of the air (KG bullshit). I was not impressed.

Since so few of them do - this can be a bit deceiving. It's not like the zombie apocalypse and you can tell right off - but they do give themselves up pretty easily. Just seeing the X gear will set it off and it is just going to get worse!

Another example of the of the UC type thuggish behavior were are going to start getting by inferior teams who think they should be better than us but are not even close.
