He will be enrolling in January when the new semester starts. Mack mentioned it again in his show a couple weeks ago.

Is he allowed to practice with the team?

I'm kind of curious as to how the coaching staff incorporates Ekiyor into practice. Everyone else knows the system.
Do they plug him into practice right away? Do they take time to orient him, holding him out until he has the basics of the offense and defense down? Does he receive additional 1 on 1 time with a coach to get him up to speed due to his late arrival? Does he initially fill the role that walk-ons typically do (basically scout squad)?
What do you guys and gals think?

I expect him to be thrown into the fire fairly quickly. He will be a good guy and a different look for our bigs to go against which will help. No better way to learn than through practice. No reason to hold him back except maybe certain specific offensive and defensive sets he'll see less reps until he has it down pat in order to not throw off everyone's timing if he's not used to it enough.

I imagine that redshirt players in a given year act sort of like walk ons. They learn the offense but practice as a scout team player. No reason to take real reps away from available players. He still would learn the offense this way and gets to stay in shape playing and he is probably, like the other poster said, a good guy to get to go against in practice.
That being said I have no real idea, just my guess.
