I just wanna commend BJ on a spectacular Danas day. The pregame was absolutely incredible. It was a true tailgate rolling that beer tub into the parking lot. Just a great day to be a Xavier fan.
I'm sure it was spectacular indeed. I plan to make my annual Pilgrimage next weekend for the noon Auburn game, but that's NOT UC in the Shootout with a nice 5:30 start time. Wish I'd been able to make that one! And the weather cooperated nicely... all the stars aligned for a great tailgate and a great day.

I've never seen it that packed........overflowing into the parking lot.

We saw the overflow and it looked a little too crowded so we went down to gas station, bought some beer, ice, and a cheap cooler;then got a sweet spot in old Kroger lot and tailgated alongside some other fans. Had a really good time on 70 degree day.

A parking lot, a cooler, an ass kicking.... what could be better?
(Maybe a place to take a leak?)

Went around HCDC building. Problem solved. I actually noticed quite a few tailgaters in many different areas. Might need to start a tradition.

It all depends on global warming. December has berm balmy.

As a Buffalo Bills fan, I'd LOVE to see some tail gaiting tradition. That can set us apart, and be one hell of a lot of fun!

I've tailgated for football in some icy conditions. A beer blanket can do wonders for the spirit.
I too would love to see some tailgating at Xavier basketball, especially before some of the big time conference match ups.

This is a truly good idea. Be different while having fun.
Is that Sheriff Coach guy still around to shut down the idea?
BJ, great job - amazing crowd pregame! Dana's was ready and the weather was perfect.
Got to hang with birdman, gladdenguy, snipe, PMI, Lamont and others at Dana's, then went to XU87's tailgate party. Perhaps the best pregame festivities in Cintas history for me.

Chief Couch retired but I believe he has an offspring XU5O'n around. Hey BJ, how about another tailgate this Sat for the Auburn game? It's a nooner so we'll have to start early.

I sent '94 Grad a message about him having a great day...
His response: "We broke even".

Norwood was actually patrolling the lots near old Kroger and the group next to us told us the cop just asked them to put the beer into cups. He came by us and never said anything.

Isn't that Xavier owned property there? Does Norwood Police have jurisdiction?
Please, one of our esteemed Barristers weigh in on this question.

Always appreciated NPD and CPD. It was funny when XUPD would try to break up our house parties and we would calmly explain they needed to stand on the sidewalk and wait for actual police with jurisdiction to show up. For some reason they got a little miffed about that. :)

Well, you can't win the half-court shot contest every year.

Man it seemed like they had 150 people in the parking lot alone. BJ could not pour the beer fast enough for that crowd. It was off the hook!
I thought it had to set a record. I have never seen The Dana Gardens so packed.
