Yep. I was preaching that all last season. A lot of fans didn't appreciate how good they had it for their first backup big.

If Farr had played a few more minutes last season, he would have been 3rd in the country in defensive rebounding rate. 3rd! And he was playing next to two of the better rebounders in the conference a lot of the time, so he was losing rebounds to teammates too.

What a great actor. And though the movie Aloha was not looked upon fondly by the critics, it was a great movie even if disjointed. If you like any if the actors, or if you like a movie that feels somewhat like an 80s throwback, though set in the present, I recommend it.

Also, if we play UD in the final we are going to have to be a lot louder to neutralize their crowd. It was like a home game for them yesterday.

London and Gates both got solid minutes, though it looks like London is still ahead in the depth chart. It was interesting seeing them in together at one point, with O'Mara at center. Theoretically with their ballhandling and Gates' lateral quickness, they can play alongside each other with one at the 3. With Trevon and all the guards, we just don't see it much.

Gates will be just fine in time. Looks good for a frosh. London had another block and some rebounds I found encouraging. I was worried we had a Big who just wanted to play behind the arc. Probably a very good redshirt. Again, in Mack I trust.

I don't think that most fans can understand just how fast the game can to seem to a player, especially when they haven't seen any action for awhile. They can practice all the want, but it's a whole different world when it's for real. It's not so much that the players are quicker or faster, it's more that the mind is not working at the speed the game is moving at. Players talk about the game slowing down as they gain experience, and the really good players can not only react quickly to what happens, but can even anticipate what will happen before it does. Some players never develop this and continue throughout their careers to make bad passes, make turnovers, and always seem to be in bad defensive position. Developing the mental talents needed to succeed take more time than developing the physical talents, and can be even harder to accomplish.

Tremendous 1st half, not worried about the second half. Bill Murray being there was superb. He loves to be in Wes Anderson movies, and I love him in them. I just wish he had an X hat on rather than that unknown logo hat. At least it was navy blue.

I agree about the letdown. I wasn't really happy with the second half performance, but, Reynolds and Farr only played 16 minutes apiece and that was when they were building up the big lead. This was really the first opportunity that Mack has had to give the bench extended playing time. I'm sure Mack wasn't too pleased with the defensive intensity in the second half but that happens with youth in blowouts.

I didn't like London's 3 pointer after his big block. Seemed forced and based on the emotion left over from the defensive end. It was not at all in the rhythm of the offense. I generally don't mind guys who have proven to the coaches in practice that they can shoot taking good threes. Bad threes early in the possession drive me a little bit crazy.
