I don't think there was one player that truly stood out. But, I was pleased with the way Sumner was able to play PG and score.

What happened on the Muskies' floor last night is absolutely no indication of how good this team can be. The Muskie staff has for years produced teams that were far beyond our expectations. Last year's group is a prime example of that situation. As a season ticket holder dating back to the '60's at Schmidt Memorial Fieldhouse (for which I have not been given credit since records don't go back that far or have been lost --- I also had season tickets to XU football for a number of years prior to its demise) I have seen the Muskie basketball program at its nadir (Dick Campbell era) and its apex (2 Elite 8's). No matter how disappointed one might get at failing to progress beyond the second weekend of the Tourney, it's still light years away from going 3-23 against a bunch of D-2 and NAIA teams at uncomfortable Schmidt Fieldhouse!
