I like good beer, and I cringe every time I hear the phrase craft beer. Seems to be the most overused phrase on the planet at this point.

I agree. With Sam Adams being mass produced nowadays, it is hardly a "craft beer".

Decent beer. Micro - brew used to be the term, and it seemed somehow less obnoxious to me.

Microbrew is also more accurate, as I wouldn't call the beer "craft" that comes from some crappy small breweries.

Hopefully they still have Nosferatu on Friday. That is one delicious beer, and not one that I have seen on tap too many places. Score one for Cintas!

It's $9.50 and the other crafts were $8. If you want it or will cost you.

Dang, that's pricey for Cincinnati. I was just at the theater last night and paid $8 for a 16oz can of craft beer, and Richmond is generally a more expensive city than Cincinnati.

Still cheaper than the Reds. Crafts there are $9 for a small and $13 for a large.

They have replaced the dump bins (kiosks) filled with iced down cans of Miller products with upright refrigerator units filled with Bud products. They sell 16 oz cans of domestic beer for $7 and imports like Stella and Heineken for $8, which seems reasonable.

Of course, a lot of "craft" breweries are nowhere close to "micro" in size. Micro at one time meant less than 15,000 barrels. Rhinegeist is looking to do 30,000 barrels this year, and 100k in a couple years. Great Lakes is somewhere around 200k barrels. Magic Hat is part of the 6th largest brewing holding group in the country. Sam Adams of course is nowhere close, at over 4 million barrels.

I would call Sam Adams a macrobrew, really. They've ascended to that level in their production.

Magic Hat used to be brewed in Burlington, Vt. Do you know if it is still brewed there exclusively? And BTW I never tasted a Magic Hat that I thought was worth a damn.

Beer at Cintas Center
vs.
UC basketball (who cares) in relation to Xavier in the polls (polls are terrible but especially at the beginning of the year)
I would much rather talk about the beer in Cintas Center.

Before there was a you, I succeeded in changing football and basketball games from "dry" to wet.
I convinced the "collars" that if we were going to take their cash. logic said we should sell their product.
Home brews Burger, Hudepohl, Weideman gave the athletic program a tone more in cash than they ever
received back in revenue. Looking back, if it wasn't for them, and Coca Cola, and Kahn's, and Frisch's and a lot
more non-Xavier affiliated folks in B&I, you wouldn't have to worry about what beer you have now, 'cause there
wouldn't even be a Cintas.
I kid you not. "Q" can tell you just how close the "anti-athletic" faction on XU's Board and falculty came on several
occasions.

Gladdenguy, you might just be drinking Miller lite whether you want to or not. I would think the gov't would think twice about letting the deal with Inbev and SABMiller go through but I've been wrong before. I remember before Miller merged and became MillerCoors a few years back no one saw it coming. Talking heads said it would never happen as Coors is non-union whiist Miller was a union shop.I've worked at the Miller plant in Trenton for 17 years and there is an aura of uncertainty as merging with Inbev would imply having a Budweiser plant 95 miles away.

I don't think Three Floyds distributes to Ohio? If you're ever in Northwest Indiana it's worth a trip to their brewer (Munster). The food is excellent (though when they are busy there can be a wait- and they tend to play death metal at a more than loud volume to keep people from lingering).

The Wine World store on 5 Mile in Anderson has it when it is available, which isn't often. I was lucky enough to get it twice in the last couple of years, but people actually track the date and time of deliveries so it is hard to find just sitting on the shelf. The term "rabid following" doesn't do it justice. By the way, if you are ever in Vermont, Headdy Topper is really good.

Regarding Three Flloyds - Cock and Bull has a Halloween FFF event. I got to try Permanent Funeral, Dreadnaught, Alpha King, Zombie Dust and Moloko. Could have tried Yum Yum, Gumball and Broo Doo but at 10oz each better judgement prevailed.
