View Full Version : Buying Michigan tickets

Anyone bought tickets for the Michigan game through Xavier?
They tickets are $25 and it says in section GA1. Anyone know what that means because on stubhub and other seating charts there is no GA1. Does that just mean general admission then you find out your section and seats later? I was just going to buy mine on stubhub but the are cheaper right now through XU and I'm guessing we'd be sitting with XU fans.
Any info would be appreciated.

Good luck getting tickets through X. I talked to the ticket office a month ago and they told me I had a very slim chance of getting tickets. They will be distributing them based on the point total you have.

Oh ok, I've never done it before and I got an email about single game tickets on sale and I saw away games and there was an option for the Michigan game and it said $25/ticket and it let me add it to my cart and checkout, I just didnt want to do it not knowing where the seats were.
So that was just for a chance to get tickets? Or if I was able to go that far in the process there were actually tickets available?

Maybe I was doing the same thing you were doing, D-West, but I went to Michigan's web site and tried to purchase tickets. When it asks for a promotional code, I entered "BEILEIN" (saw another X fan post this on twitter), and it let me select specific seats to purchase for $25 apiece. Seats are way up in the highest level, but it's something.
Is that what you did? Was this just for the "chance" to purchase seats?

This is what it said on XU's site:
Xavier at Michigan
Fri, Nov 20, 2015 9:00 PM
Section GA1 Seat 31 - 32 Single Game Adult
2 x $25.00 $50.00
So no specific section but it says specific seats, but from what 94 said that is just for a chance at tickets. I guess the $50 is refunded if you dont get them? I've never done it before.

I just looked at Michigan's website and what you did and that looks like you actually have tickets because it says specific section and seat. You should be good. I might go that way as well.
What section did it put you in?

214, I think? Whichever is high up and behind one of the baskets. Not an ideal vantage point

Yea, I was at a Michigan game last year and the Wisconsin fans were all sitting upper deck behind one of the baskets.
I lucked out on tickets. Been stalking on stubhub for over a month and got two for my brother and I yesterday. They are an early Christmas present for us, but we managed to get 1st row across from the X bench for a pretty good price considering. I live 20 minutes away, so this game is basically my super bowl.

My buddy works in IT at UofM. He said the season tickets are going out this week. Many of those tickets should show up through their internal exchange and on StubHub soon after that. We went to the Syracuse/Mich game last year via StubHub tickets. Had decent seats and didn't pay too too much. I expect the same for this game.
Keep your eyes peeled.

You can create a login on Michigan's website and use promo code BEILEIN. I bought 8 uppers for $25 each. Got them yesterday, ordered on the 8th.

At $25, Xavier is the big-ticket item in the Michigan non-conference schedule. Every other game is $15 or $20 depending on whether it is on a weekend ($20) or during the week ($15).
If anyone is up there or going up there, the women play at Michigan the night before.

I agree. Stub hub will be your best bet. There are upper sideline tickets for only 30 right now as opposed to ordering the 25 dollar tickets behind a basket in the upper section.
We are staying at the Ann Arbor Regent Hotel and Suites for both Friday and Saturday night. If anybody wants to watch college football on Saturday at the Brown Jug......we will be there watching Michigan pigskin. Should be a great weekend.

I am planning on going for both Women's and Men's games! Would be great to see the WBB team supported on the road.
When I was last at UM, I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in the Briarwood mall complex. Nothing fancy and a car or other transportation is needed to get into downtown Ann Arbor, which is a pretty cool place. But the HGI was comfortable and they make a decent breakfast there.

Me and the wife are headed up. Bought 2 tics on StubHub in section 224 for $80.00
For those staying overnight, a couple of Saturday suggestions:
Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. Easy 45 min drive from Ann Arbor, incredible collection of autos and other transportation, including some massive steam engines you can climb into.
Zingermans Deli for breakfast or fine sandwiches for your trip back.
The Diag, heart of a classic college campus. Check out The Cube, kinetic sculpture.
I'm not sure if you can get into The Big House, but it's huge and impressive college facility.

Based on their website, it doesn't sound like you can go into Michigan Stadium, but Crisler Arena is right next to it in the same complex, so you can definitely get a good look from the outside.

Michigan Stadium is NOT open to the general public for exercising, walk-in tours, drop-in photo ops, etc.

Henry Ford Museum was not bad but I think the neighboring Henry Ford Deerfield Village was much better. They both can take a day, and if I had to choose one or the other it would be Deerfield Village. But come November 20th, I am not sure that would even be an option, perhaps it is just a summer attraction. Thomas Edison's lab in Deerfield Village is cool. Henry Ford was a Great American.
He was also an author.

Unfortunately NCAA Field Hockey Championships are in Ann Arbor that weekend so there will be no tours given in the Big House on Friday November 20th. I am disappointed. I've been many times on game day but would have loved to see it in great depth. Oh well.

You got that right. Only went there once but it was a blast. I think it is a great place to take the kids. Sorry for the Deerfield Village props.
Greenfield Village is an awesome stop. The kids enjoyed it more than the Ford Museum, and I think the Ford Museum was quite cool.

Yep, Ford and Fr. Coughlin had a lot to say about Those Amazin Jews.

Heading up with 10 guys. Staying at the Courtyard Marriot. I don't think they sell beer at the Crisler so I'll have to get creative. I'll need to make a trip to the Party Source in Newport to load up. Whose idea was it to make this game a 9:00 tipoff?

Pizza House in Ann arbor is the best. It's a bit pricier, but they have really good chicago style pizza, calzones, etc. If you're looking to go the cheap route there are a few places on south university that sell by the slice. A bigger slice is 1.50-2 bucks. South U pizza is probably the best out of those. Both of those are smack dab in the middle of campus/near the most popular college bars down there so make sure you give yourself enough time if you go the pizza house route.

Angelo's is kind of an Ann Arbor tradition, but parking is horrible and you could be waiting an hour to be seated. Afternoon Delight is also really good but you may find a wait there as well. There really aren't enough breakfast places to service the locals along with the hungover college kids so you may have to wait anywhere you go. If anyone is in a lunch mood, Zingerman's is a must. A bit pricier, but the BEST sandwiches.

I've never actually been during the morning. Depending on when you go during the afternoon you can wait for either 10 minutes or 2-3 hours. There are usually samples out of different things while you wait in line. Good news is there is a lot of seating in there. Once you order they give you a ticket with about how long the food will take and you can grab a seat until they yell your order. If you're going to go to one place in Ann Arbor for food, I would suggest here. Just make sure you have enough time or call ahead to get an approximate wait time since I'm not sure how mornings are.

I am betting on the fact that this is not a football weekend, and this place with 100,000+ seat stadium for football probably has some excess capacity when football is not being played.
