Need more stats than that to make a comparison.

Rebounding, assists, offensive efficiency numbers could all be helpful

I think it would also be important to know if A was required to do all the scoring and if B was part of a more balanced offense. the stats you gave just compare scoring which is not enough to know if A or B is a better player.

I'm going with Player C.
23.6 PPG. Highest in Xavier history.

Good point on that. The %Possessions and %Shots are good indicators.
Do either of them play any defense?

Are both players able to jump off one foot? That makes a huge difference.

Why play defense if you can outscore the man you're guarding anyway?

Can they guard on one foot? That would be something.

haha its really impossible to tell with just PPG. what if player A averages 0 assists and rebounds, and player B averages double digit rebounds or assists

Yes indeed. What he might have put up with 4 full, and un-injured years. (much less a 3 pt line)

Player A is Larkin. Player B is West.
And a tough choice. Different positions, different eras. But I'm going with the former National Player of the Year.

West would win in my opinion. Rebounding, assists, and scoring. Larkin could take over a game on the offensive end. I used to love those Alfredrick Hughes vs. Larkin 40+ point battles in the MCC, but West could dominate on both sides of the court and that tips it for me. Now, if the question is about value to the program, I think Larkin was one of the key elements that moved this program years forward to a place where a player of West's caliber would come and become the National Player of the Year. Without Larkin, there might not have been a West, but if I had to play a real game and defense matters, I want West.

The point of the exercise was to see if people would choose Larkin or West without knowing who they were by name.

Right because more people wanted stats... i had to oblige at that point. Oh well. It was interesting while it lasted.

yeah. kind of tough to present a blind comparison between players that played different positions.
