Just glancing through the stats of some of the returning players.

James Farr enters the season with 328 points and 344 rebounds. Farr will break the 500 point mark and rebound mark if he duplicates his output of last season.

Trevon Bluiett starts his Sophomore Campaign with 408 points and 156 Rebounds. If he does nothing but duplicate those numbers over his (presumed) 4 years at X, he would finish 1632 points and 624 Rebounds. He would bump Stanley Burrell from 13 on Xavier's all-time scoring list.

Jalen Reynolds enters Junior Campaign with 485 points and 343 Rebounds. If he duplicates his rebounding numbers over his final two seasons he will be 10 rebounds behind James Posey (who is 10th all time in Rebounds). If Jalen duplicates his 2014-15 clip in points he will join Xavier's 1000 point club with 1219 points. bumping Josh Duncan from 27th all time.

Myles Davis enters the season with 562 points (after scoring 383 points last season). If he keeps that production up he would end with 1328 points joining the 1000 point club at 23 (replacing Jack Thobe).

These stats of course assume the players will at least duplicate last year's stats. It does not take in account growth.

it sounds like Jalen won't be a 1000-point scorer at Xavier, then, as this is likely his last year.

That could be. He could have a big year if he can cut down on the offensive fouls.

and defensive fouls...and technical fouls

It would take a player scoring 674 points per year for four years to tie Byron Larkin. That's 23-24 ppg in a 28-30 game season.

Or X just needs to play more 38-40 game seasons.

That would also work.

I expect him to pick up Defensive fouls. It's the Tech's and needless Offensive fouls that drive me crazy and limit his minutes.

They also cause the refs to watch him more closely which makes him pick up other fouls more often. Keep it in check Jalen and stay on the court!!

I fully expect Blueitt to push 2K by the time he's gone.

I really think Bluiett is a 4 year player, and if he stays at Xavier all 4 years, I agree he should come close to 2,000 points

You may. But he doesn't, nor does his family. Jalen is gone after this year, and if Trevon has the year we all hope he has, he's right behind.

Talent-wise and athletic-wise, hes the definition of a great 4 year player. I'm sure him and his family think he will be able to make the NBA, but I really don't see him getting drafted, whether he leaves early or not.

If you have, say, a 15% chance of being drafted to the dream career after a great sophomore campaign, but that chance drops to 5% if you stay another year or two, what would you do? Keep in mind that failure to be drafted just means you make good money over in Europe.

You guys think Trevon can play the 2 in the NBA? I'm not so sure. He isnt big enough to be a 3. I'm surprised people think he will be gone after this year. That would be a hell of a year.

I didn't say I think he SHOULD be gone after this year. I said he reportedly wants to be. That said, it's not unreasonable to believe that his stock may peak this year.

Exactly. And if his stock were to peak this year, it wouldn't just peak for draft chances. It would also peak for opportunities abroad, both in terms of which teams are interested in him and how large of a salary he can secure.

I don't see the NBA in his future. Hope Im wrong, i agree with D-West & PO-Z--I really don't think he can play the 2 in the NBA.
