QUEENS, N.Y. – Xavier men's soccer outshot St. John's 3-1 in overtime, but couldn't find the game-winner as the two sides battled to a 0-0 draw at Belson Stadium on Wednesday.
It was the third overtime in four matches for the Musketeers, which moved to 7-4-1 overall and 1-2-1 in BIG EAST play with the result. The Red Storm went to 3-7-3 and 1-1-2, as Xavier was held scoreless for just the third time this season.
Eight different players recorded shots for Xavier as Matt Vasquenza (http://goxavier.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=2972) led the way with two. SJU goalkeeper Jordan Stagmiller had to make just one save, however, to keep the clean sheet.
XU keeper Dallas Jaye (http://goxavier.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=2960) had another solid effort in goal, making three saves and posting his fifth shutout.
