Opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one and most of them stink. I'd now like to show you my asshole....I mean opinion....
I like Oklahoma, but not that much. #8??
I like Notre Dame a hell of a lot more than #20
UC at #25?? I don't understand it. How?? Why?? People on here have talked them up too, and I just don't see what they're looking at. Most of the time I'm thinking UC is underrated. This year, I think they're extremely overrated. They have one decent player, one adequate player, and a bunch of other guys that fill out the roster. I'm just not seeing it.
Butler starting out at #29 seems about right. But, Butler only seems to do well when people are convinced that they're terrible. Like, last preseason, for instance.
I like us a lot more than #39. I think we're better than we were last year, and last year we ended up as a #6, and that was despite losing some games we should have won, and then ended up in the Sweet Sixteen. We're better this year, which means we're better than #39. A LOT better, but...whatever. I think we started out 41st the last time we made the Elite Eight. So, it's all good.
I agree that Valpo has a shot at landing inside the bubble. I'm a little surprised that CBS agrees and ranks them #41.
SFA is 46th. I don't even think they'll win the Southland this year. I think that's overreacting to two consecutive bloated records against predominantly sub 200 teams.
Old Dominion is #53. I actually like them more than Valpo and could see them not needing an automatic bid to get into the NCAAs this year. They're kinda one of my sleepers, if you can call a team starting out that high a sleeper.
#58 Belmont, I think, is really good this year. They return virtually everyone from last year's team. I certainly think they're better than SFA.
Memphis is 62nd!! This is the least overrated they've been in the post Calipari era!! Still probably overrated, though.
Central Michigan is way down the list at #85. If they can stay healthy, I think they're a top fifty/fringe bubble team.
Iona is talented and should be a lot better than #87, but Tim Cluess is there, so 87th is probably about right.
I'm a little surprised that Evansville and Loyola Chicago aren't getting a little more love. Both clearly look like top 100 teams to me, and perhaps even better.
I know I'm out on a limb here, but I like North Dakota State a lot more than #132. They return basically everyone from a team that won a ton of games and made the NCAAs last year. I think they're at least an NIT caliber team, and perhaps a fringe bubble team. Not sure why they're so far down the list.
Northeastern is down at #157. Yeah, they lost their best player, but they retain virtually everyone else from a team that won a lot of games and damn near beat Notre Dame a year ago.
Fordham, at #303, is where they belong, but they finally have a good coach in Jeff Neubauer. Perhaps they can pick up a few wins against the bottom of the A10.
Thanks for posting this!! It's a sign that basketball season is getting closer!

Preseason polls should be outlawed...any one of us could come up with a list and publish it and it would mean the same thing.

But what would brew have done today after lunch without it?

Exactly.
I used to think preseason polls should be outlawed, and then I decided to take them for what they were. Forecasts based on nothing. Everyone truly does start out at zero. But, they do provide some frame of reference for the beginning of the year, and they're fun to look at and talk about. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I heard that even Robert Morris's head coach from last year turned the Fordham job down. Smart man.

(In the voice of Jerry Seinfeld Master Of Your Domain episode).....with all that you posted Brew, the question remains...do you believe UD without Pierre is 4 spots better than X?
I kid...
