SDSU might be guilty of Level 1 violations. Steve Fisher has a history......

Chances are it's not a Level 1 violation. Most improper benefits cases aren't unless players were getting more than $10k. I like Gary Parish, but he's doing a lot of supposing in that report.

I'm not saying that nothing happened. I'm just saying that saying it's a level 1 violation sounds like a huge supposition to me.

X-Band needs to take credit for this article. I'm actually laughing at my desk right now. This is why college sports are so ridiculous it's comical.

So, CBS writes about how San Diego State is under investigation, makes a bunch of suppositions, but doesn't directly cite a source.

San Diego State responds by saying they've received no notice from the NCAA about an investigation.

The NCAA Media Relations office is asked a simple yes/no question by the San Diego Union Tribune regarding the investigation, but doesn't answer it. Instead, they tell the reporter to fill out some sort of form. That is...WOW! That is great!!

The paper then asks someone else at the NCAA that same exact very simple yes/no question, and they're told they can't comment on "current, pending or potential" investigations. The NCAA, due to their own rules, is not allowing themselves to answer a very simply yes/no question. EVERYTHING is arguably POTENTIALLY an investigation.

So, no one knows what's going on.

The NCAA ladies and gentlemen!!!!!

Makes me wonder where this originated. Perhaps a rival for a recruit planted a seed that Parrish couldn't pass up

That was my impression given that SDSU isn't self-reporting anything at this time.

And if you look at the article that Brew linked above, the reporter for the Union-Tribune probably believes that the Aztecs either beat someone out (or are about to) for a major recruit.

looks like these allegations were unfounded.
