Wow. If I could go back in time to my 1982 self and show this schedule to me back then, I would be ecstatic. X worked so hard to get a name team on the schedule back then. I remember one year when X played both Providence and Pitt and it was awesome. Now, the schedule has Missouri, Wake Forest, Michigan, USC/Wichita St., Auburn, and Alabama and it's just acceptable. Man, I love where X is now and where X is going.

Not playing at MSG this year either when we play at St. John's.

That must have been St. John's desire to play on campus; neither the Knicks nor the Rangers play at MSG on Jan. 6.

Creighton, DePaul and Butler also play at Carnesecca Arena.

Composite Big East Schedule (http://www.bigeast.com/documents/2015/9/8//2015_16_MBB_Schedule.pdf?id=1667)

Another note of interest is that Villanova plays Providence, St. John's, and Georgetown at the Wells Fargo Arena. They can play up to 3 games at Wells Fargo this year since La Salle is hosting the East regional finals at the Wells Fargo Arena this March. This point becomes moot if Nova schedules any non-con games at Wells Fargo, however.

Back to back Saturday Fox National games @ Butler and @ GTOWN.. With home games against Providence and Nova.. Hell of a stretch. Hopefully the boys have found their stride come February.

And yes, @ Nova, and home with Butler to start off the Big East season isn't ideal. X has 4 Saturday conference games btw..

The schedule had been kind to Xavier early in Big East play the last 2 seasons; sooner or later they were bound for a tougher beginning. We also forget that Xavier shot itself in the balls last year at DePaul early on as well.

This is a bad schedule for my traveling game set ups. GTown, DePuke, Butler and Marquette on the road on Saturdays and Seton Hall on a Sunday. Villanova on New Years Eve away.

I'll figure something out.

Rollie Massimino is Northwood's coach. That should make it a little more fun than you're average exhibition game.

Are we sure we're playing the Northwood that Rollie coaches? There are two of them (which led to some confusion last year during exhibition season).

Ouch. So we are playing the worst two SEC teams (Alabama - 13th, Missouri - 14th) and the 10th ranked SEC team (Auburn). 3 of the bottom 5. I don't know how long ago these games were scheduled, but I can't imagine Mario was anticipating the teams being this bad.

xubrew
10-21-2015, 10:11 AM
Alabama was scheduled by ESPN, not Mario.

Auburn sucks, but they suck a lot less than they did when we first scheduled them. I remember posting that I'd rather play Georgia State home and home than Auburn, and I was serious. I must admit that I do think the media is missing on this one and that they will be much better than tenth, but they probably still aren't a tournament caliber team.

If Missouri's basketball team was a sled dog, it would have been shot last year. They are TERRIBLE.

This is what happens when you let the boosters hire the coach rather than actual basketball people. I am afraid it will only get worst after seeing the mass exodus of all of their young talent.

What mass exodus? They lost two guys off of an 8 win team...that's pretty impressive that they only lost two and jt3 is addition by subtraction in my opinion. That still have a lot of youbg talent with wright, grant and others returning.

Kim Anderson is doing things the right way something that mizzou hasn't done since Stewart in terms of getting relationships back with the local high school coaches. Sorry but I don't think you know what you are talking about in this case. Haith destroys programs..he has done it everywhere he has gone. I'm going to give Anderson more than one year to judge him and I expect the team to be .500 this year. That's not great but it's an improvement. It will take time for missouri to be nationally relevant again but I firmly believe Anderson is the right man for the job.

I think that is a little harsh on JT3 as he was the lead scorer as a sophomore, which was kind of big role to ask him to fill. I would have liked to see what he could do with a few more years of development. The transfer I am most upset about is Techie Gill-Ceaser. That kid looked like he was going to be a stud in the next fews years.

I still think Kim is in way over his head, but I hope I am wrong and you are right. I would prefer to take a hit to my pride than watch more seasons like last year.
