Xavier University Director of Athletics Greg Christopher (http://goxavier.com/staff.aspx?staff=4) announced today a four-year contract for men's soccer head coach Andy Fleming (http://goxavier.com/coaches.aspx?rc=125). The new pact will run through the 2018 season.

The architect behind a remarkable turnaround of the men's soccer program, Fleming is embarking on his sixth season with the Musketeers in 2015. He compiled a 61-28-17 (.656) record through his first five years – taking on a roster that won just two matches in 2009 and producing a 10-win, conference champion in 2010. The 2010 season was the best single-season turnaround in the nation and one of the top-five of the entire decade.

Just for curiosity purposes, what does a soccer coach at Xavier make? $75-100k? Or is even that too high?

I think it's in that range. He's worth every penny.

My friend interviewed for the OU Women's job. It was over 60k.

I think very few really "get" what Andy has done. Just incredible. Great move and I hope he stays for years to come.

Definitely worth it, especially since quite a few Big East programs really seem to value men's soccer.

Seems like this was a great move by Christopher and the Athletic Dept as his Muskies are now 2-0 on the year with two shutouts.

Let's go X soccer!

This.

Basically Andy Fleming has built a program out of nothing. A shutout of Wisconsin at their place last night. Very impressive.

Go AF!!

Its hard to believe how quickly he turned things around to such a high level. That team was absolutely terrible before he came in.
