"The 12th Horan All For One Fund Golf Classic, Xavier Athletics' signature event, has generated more than $1 million in net proceeds for student-athletes."
$1,000,000.
Net.
One event.
Knock out 3 zeros, and that's what we were probably doing in the 70's while holding a putt-putt tournament on the floor of Schmidt Memorial Fieldhouse, using paper cups that had already been used to hold 3.2 Hudy's. At least bongs were probably involved - - virtual windmills and all that.

"Virtual windmills" are better than a freaky, scary clown at putt putt any day! Recycling the Hudy cups was ahead of the times.

I love the Big East, but that doesn't mean I need to drag the A-10 through the mud. The A-10 was very good for us. I like the Cintas, but that doesn't mean I'm not also still a little nostalgic for the Gardens.
Good times to be a Xavier fan. Great history, better future.

Great events ... I'm one of several coming in from Chicago for the Night of Excellence and AFO outing. We'll see if I can record another ace at the outing!

I didn't know that this was a putt-putt event. (:

The A10 was very good to Xavier. I've been on record as noting that in the past.
Beyond that, it is a fact that we've stepped up and in a big way. Even while in the A10, though we did fine while being associated with it, I always felt that the conference affiliation piece was the last program element Xavier had to solve.
I can be greatfull for what the A10 could and did provide for the program's development, but I don't miss it - at all - because of how we've landed and due to the advantages that the Big East provides the program.
Love your last sentence: Good times to be a Xavier fan. Great history, better future.
