Add Florida to that list as well.

At least Dayton and Nova can say they lost to top 10 teams, both #1 in their respective conferences. Not many else on that list can say anything close.

The guy that does studio analysis for ESPN with Gottlieb - used to coach Delaware?... He was on the selection committee a few years ago... And he was saying there is a LOT of arguing that goes among the committee members. The main reason they don't allow a reporter in on the process is because of things said about teams. This year the arguing is going to be bad as ever with so many weak resumes.

It was Vermont. But for some reason, I'm spacing on the name.

This is one of those years where I hope we don't hear any complaining from the "last team out". I won't feel sorry for any team who is omitted.

Thing is Billy, there are going to be multiple teams that are going to bitch up a storm this year.
I guaranfreakintee that this year is going to be the year where we hear multiple teams and talking heads actually arguing vociferously that the tourney needs to be expanded to include all these bubble teams.
It's going to be quite ridiculous.

Expanding the tournament does not remove bubble teams. It just moves the demarcation line further down the road.
It is not as if real quality teams are being left out or a legitimate national championship contender is excluded.

I suppose.
I'm willing to hear arguments that the committee didn't pick the right set of teams. As with Syracuse last year.
But I don't want to hear coaches complaining about the bad deal they got...when they, themselves, coached teams which failed to capitalize on a VERY weak set of bubble teams. You just won't see many years where the SEC, Big XII, ACC, and Big Ten are ALL paper thin in the exact same season. I certainly don't recall a year like this since the birth of the "super conference era".
There are years where 85 wins will win the NL Wildcard...and that's sort of this year in college basketball. The "good teams" will all get in.

I can't imagine any possible scenario where Brennan could ever have been on the Selection Committee. He was coaching Vermont up until about two years ago and then immediately joined ESPN.
Given a lot of the comments he makes, I don't think the Selection Committee would be better off with him on it, either.

Ditto. He is also the little bitch who with Gottleib said Knight was a bully. I guess ESPN had their own contract with Knight, but seeing Knight in the same studio with those two would be worthy of pay per view.
I'd love seeing the ethical Knight debate Mr. Stolen Credit Card.

One thing is absolutely certain. Sunday's selection show and the rehashing and postmortems after it will be worth watching and even taping for future bitching. Wonder which team Jay Bilas will single out as not being worthy this year?

Bilas was squaring off with Lunardi about Illinois State this afternoon, so if the Redbirds make it expect them to be the whipping boy for Bilas.
