Just wanted to say that my family just hosted the third consecutive Xavier Freshman Send-Off Party at our house tonight for the Baltimore/DC metro area. Nine incoming students from the area attended which is higher than normal (usually about 5 or 6). It really was awesome to see such a great turnout amongst the class of 2019 here.
Xavier really is growing and will continue to succeed as we continue through this era. The joining of the Big East Conference has really opened us up to many prospective East Coast students that would not have even thought about Xavier in the past. That along with the plans for infrastructure growth is making this a really exciting time for me as a fan of the athletics program, but more so, Xavier University itself!

Great to hear BMoreX! Xavier has definitely grown in stature over the years (heck Dana's now has more than one TV!) and I'm sure this group of young men and women for others from MD/DC will leave their mark on Norwood and beyond.

Which floor?
When I was a frosh you had one TV. The second floor upgrade nearly killed me as I barely escaped being crushed by a stainless steel 5 keg dispensing wonder of engineering (let's not forget the Freon leakage that was equally problematic).
That said, great memories of the WORLD'S GREATEST BAR!

When I was @ X, I think they still had B/W. Except it had a gray/brown patina on the screen. Nothing was on anyway.

I only remember one time watching TV at Danas. I'm sure there were more, but only one sticks with me. A couple car loads of us returrned from a concert downtown for some post-music beer (of course). People were all over us when we walked in the door asking about the concert in a confusing way. Then they broke into Monday night football and explained that people had died at the Who concert that night. There was a strange hush that came over Danas as we were all trying to hear the report. It was very eerie. At that point some of the events of that night made sense, but the reports of what happened were never really accurate. Regardless, that was the only time I remember watching TV at Danas, and I'm afraid I'll never forget it. Lots of great memories from Danas, but that wasn't one of them.
Note to incoming students: If you ever go to a concert and they only have two gates open, right next to each other, to get 18,000 people into the arena, on a freezing, wet windy night, fight your way OUT of the crowd (like we did) and walk around the arena looking for another point of entry that anyone in their right mind would provide. And if you think you hear music inside, don't worry, it may not be what you think it is... and either way it's just not worth it.
