Does Joey Brunk's commitment (http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/butler/2015/06/14/southports-brunk-commits-to-butler/71212016/) mean Butler is going to start reeling in basketball players from Indianapolis? Or is this a one-off?
Does it matter?
The Bulldogs' success of the 2000s has not been built on a foundation of touted prospects and has occurred despite an inability to attract local talent. It is too early to tell whether Brunk, a 6-10 Southport center in the 2016 class, represents a trickle or a flood to Sunset Avenue.
"I don't know if it has any meaning or not in that regard," said Jerry Meyer, director of basketball scouting for 247 Sports. "What I find significant is the other people that wanted Joey Brunk that Butler beat out to get him."
Brunk announced Sunday that he had chosen the Bulldogs over offers from half the Big Ten, including Indiana and Purdue, plus Oklahoma, Missouri and Xavier.
