Wouldn't have to leave the state, perennial conference champs. Seems like a slam dunk.

Basketball doesn't play second fiddle to football at Murray State either, which clearly makes it more attractive than the Florida job.

I heard it was Archie's if he wanted it.

This statement is 100 percent accurate. It is Archie's job if he wants it. Unless, of course, John Calipari wants it.

Did Prohm go to Iowa State?
Murray State is a plum job. I'm sure Kelsey is aiming higher for his next step up, but if he could get in the running for this job he should run (not walk) to Murray for the opportunity. Ditto Steele.

Man it would be awesome if Steele landed that job. That would be huge.

Chances are they'll announce Bill Small as the next head coach in a matter of days.

In just the last 30 years, here are some guys who have coached at Murray and the job they took after leaving Murray. Not too many have had a lot of success in the next job, but ALL of them have received a VERY nice paycheck along the way:
Steve Newton - South Carolina
Scott Edgar - Duquesne
Mark Gottfried - Alabama
YTG - Ya, him
Billy Kennedy - Texas A&M
Prohm - Iowa State

I'd say most have done pretty well. I'm not a huge fan of Gottfried, and I realize he was forced out of Alabama for reasons that were less than flattering, but more often than not Alabama was good when he was there. He had them in the rankings and in the NCAA Tournament fairly often. They haven't been nearly as good at any point since.
YTG - yeah, him.
Billy Kennedy has TAMU looking like a tournament team as well.
I don't know anything about the other two. I don't know why you'd leave Murray State for Duquesne unless you were fired or drunk.

Have you been to Murray, Kentucky? Two words - $hit hole. I think the county may still be dry.

While that may or may not be true, leaving a good mid-major like Murray to go to a bottom feeder like Duquesne where every coach in the last 20 years has been fired was a really dumb career move.
P.S. Murray the city is not dry. The county is dry though. You can have that in Ky. (dry county with a wet city).

You also have to have been to Kentucky to understand that it's not whether or not you want to drink, but whether or not you want to be taxed to drink, that determines whether your county is dry or not.

Looks like Murray State went with a former assistant.
