I don't pay for Scout so I couldn't get the article. However, I did do some research on other sites including some with videos. Brunk appears to need some body molding and a bit more athleticism to have me fully "buy into him." However, he did get 3+, 4, and 3 stars from various rating systems so I guess he is at least a serviceable big man at 6'10" and 230 lbs.

I would take him in a heartbeat.

The staff absolutely loves Brunk. LOVES him. Hopefully 'Nick will come around to "buying into" him.

I trust the ability of our staff to judge talent more than I trust my own opinions after seeing Brunk in a couple of video clips. I don't receive direct input from the staff on potential recruits like LA MUSKIE seems to get. (I didn't think staff was permitted to comment on recruits before their signing of LOI's.)

Well, a lot of Xavier staffs have loved a lot of guys who turned out to kind of stink. So the staff loving him doesn't necessarily mean Nick is wrong not to buy in yet.

Now, if he picks us I certainly hope the coaches are right to love him!

Brunk is pretty built for a guy just finishing up his junior year of high school. Most 6'10" 17-year-olds seem to be fat or scrawny, not normal with some muscle. He's no Sean O'Mara in his pre-college conditioning, but I'm not worried about that. Never underestimate what a college conditioning program will do with a kid, and Brunk already has a good start.

Concerning his athleticism, yeah, he's not overly athletic. He's mobile, though, and his game is based primarily on great footwork and positioning.

Yeah. Recruiting priorities are a closely guarded secret. That info couldn't possibly "leak" out...
