Associate Head Coach has unofficially become coach-in-waiting in recent memory at Xavier. Best of luck to Travis.
I thought he already was. My bad.

Yes, it was a common misconception. (One I, too, shared until last week when Brian @ Scout noted it.)

That tag is more appropriate with Dwight Schrute's top assistant at Indiana.

That would have been Rick Carter this past season right?

No, Steele was still the #1 assistant, just didn't have the "Associate Head Coach" title. I believe Kelsey was the last assistant to be an "Associate Head Coach"

Yeah. Wow. Good for Travis. I don't know what he brings to the table*, but I'll trust X on this one.
* Once upon a time, after missing the tournament, and then a first round exit, I thought "Maybe this Sean Miller guy just isn't high-level D-I coaching material...it had to happen sometime, right?" Oops.

I don't remember anyone being named Associate Head Coach since Chris Mack had the title under Sean Miller.

All I can say is this....
Thank Gawd for a quiet off-season after a successful Sweet 16 run. No Chris Mack to wherever stories, no major player issues, (As stated, Jalen Reynolds: non-story), good team chemistry. Allows everyone to all just focus on getting better.
