He still shoots farther away than the defender imagines.

Which means he has no conscience!

He's been getting minutes and scoring, I'll give him that.

Last game he was 5/21 shooting. So there's that.

The only thing you need to get a shot off in the D league is the ball in your hands. And it seems to find its way to JCraw's hands a lot.

Anyone know how much do D League players get compared to playing in Europe? It's my understanding that there's not a lot of movement from the D League to the NBA, so wouldn't these guys be better off, at least financially, playing overseas?

Some of them definitely would be better off financially, Mr. Nickels being one of them I would think, but do they want to live in another country? Can they adjust to the different culture, different rules, maybe not speaking the same language as your coach/teammates? Also a lot of them have to play in shitty places. Probably just depends on what they can adjust to and what they dont want to do.

Crawford did make a little over a million this year from his contract in China. He was cut plus China's season is half of that of the NBA. So as far as this year is concerned, he's doing just fine.

OKC is one of the franchises with sole rights to a D-league team, and they are turning it into a legitimate farm team. There will be more movement in that organization than some others. The NBA as a whole is also moving more to that model, and the D-league is already pretty different from just a few years ago.

Yeah, I believe the Thunder are one of three NBA teams that own their D-League franchise (others being the Spurs and Lakers).

edit - and now that I think of it, Philly owns their d-league franchise as well.

So do the Cavs. And I think the Knicks and Warriors do too.

Philly technically has two D league teams with that embarrassing roster. Seriously, the 76ers have more undrafted players than 1st round guys. 6 or 7 guys I believe play for them. Remember Jarkar Sampson from St. Johns, he sometimes starts wonder if they have more undrafted guys than some NFL teams. As a casual 76ers fan, I personally hope the NBA changes the draft lottery rules this upcoming draft, so 76ers look stupid for tanking.

Haha, love it. The other night when the Bucks came to town, 76ers held "Greek Night" in honor of one of the Bucks players. Seriously, they are now running promotions based on their opponents. Soon, it will be like the Clippers, running ads to buy 76ers season ticket packages featuring none of the current players, but rather Carmelo, Lebron, etc.

And yet, for all their efforts and scorn, the Sixers don't have the worst record in the league. Or the second-worst record. I would much much much rather be the Sixers than the Knicks right now.

I am amazed at the teflon that the Knicks have for running out the pile of *($# they run out onto the floor.

You must not read the NY newspapers if you think the Knicks are getting a free pass.

On a side note what a dumb time to beat a good team the other day when the Knicks beat the Hawks. Ugh. There is now a scenario in which the Knicks could drop to 6th in the draft order.

I think he means that the Clippers used to market season tickets by highlighting the opposing stars that were coming to town rather than their own players. At least that's what I think he's saying. I don't actually know if the Clippers used to do that or not.

Ah... I don't remember that, but it wouldn't surprise me. For the most part, the pre-Blake Griffin years were pretty dreary.

Ah, sorry, I'm typing this all out on my phone, sounded better in my head. Yes, I remember hearing that the Clippers would advertise using images of Iverson (when he was in Philly), Vince Carter, etc. This was around the short Michael Olowokandi era I believe.

I don't. :)

TBF, the complaints about the Sixers quieted down when it was clear that the T'wolves and Knicks were as bad or worse. And when Nerlens Noel started looking like a guy you'd consider an asset on a playoff team. I'd rather be the Sixers or the T'Wolves than the Knicks. What do the Knicks have? Carmelo Anthony (a guy no one wants to play with), and a bunch of *($# sandwiches (apologies to Shane Larkin)
