I love it. Just about 700 days will pass before the cryers get another shot at beating X. Here is what Coach Midget had to say after the game:
Dayton coach Brian Gregory still hopes the Flyers make the NCAA tournament.
"A lot depends on what happens in other games," Gregory said. "We'll be in the mid-30s in RPI and strength of schedule, and we'll have 10 wins against teams in the top 100 of RPI, and two wins against teams in the Top 25. We've done a lot of good things this year. We'll see what happens on Sunday."
You know what coach, you have as much chance of making the NCAA tournament this year as I have waking up Pope tomorrow. That would be NONE!!! Now go watch the play-in game and get ready for a home NIT game. Oh, and get your shine box too.

I don't know. I still tend to believe that the committee is going to look at the wins over Pitt and Louisville (as bogus as they may be), and then look at Wright's injury and put Dayton into the field of 64. They don't deserve to get in, but I bet you they will.

Wright isn't playing. How can they discount injury related losses if that's the team that's going to the tournament.
However, I do think that they still stand a much better shot at the NCAA's than vee does at being pope tomorrow.

Tell you guys what, if I am wrong I hope it is about me being pope tomorrow. I am not sure how I'd explain it.

Hey Pope, where do you get 700 days?
It has been about 450 days since the last time ud beat X and I figure it will be another 250 before they play again.
May the Lord bless you my child. Wow, that sounds wierd coming from me. I think I'm morphing already.

Oh, I thought you meant 700 more days (which will probably be the case, if not more).
Thanks for the clarification, your eminence.

Technically, the proper title of endearment for pope is "your holiness"...
just making sure Pope Vee IV gets his proper respect

Vee- I read the article by Dow this morning and he says it's been 751 days since Dayton last beat X. So, add your 250 at a minimum, you're looking at 1000 days.

Damn, I got a "B" in "Understanding Catholicism" at X and I still screwed that up.
I was probably thinking of Bill Murray's reference to the priest in "Caddyshack."

Damn, so much for my infalability. The last time X lost to our little brother was February 21, 2006, 66-62 in the dump. That means it has already been about 750 days since the last loss. That means about 1000 days will pass before little brother gets another shot. But, hey what is time to the Pope anyway?

You are correct ab. I was doing my fact-check while you were posting the Truth. Maybe you should be Pope. :)

Dayton is not getting into the field of 65. If I had a third testicle, I'd bet it on the fact that they're not dancing this year, again. The OOC wins against L'ville and Pitt are solid at best. Both teams were less than 100% and up until their win last nite, Pitt was probably not on the firmest of ground to get in. They went .500 in the 7th rated conference RPI-wise in a conference that isn't as good as we thought it was 3 months ago. The 8th place team from the A-10 will never get an at-large bid in our lifetime.
All this papal talk makes me want to see breasts!

God I hope your right(that we destroyed their at-large chances). This was a big game (ESPECIALLY for those of us who really despise everything UDump). If given the choice, I would have gladly given them (UD) a win at the dump for a sure W in the conf tourney and the final destruction of their at- large hopes.
Can you even imagine the delusional, over the top, red and blue goggle wearing bs that would be spewing forth across the cyberspace right now if Gods team did not pull out a W.
What REALLY worries me though is, as of now, they still have an rpi of 34. Add to that, 7-9 other bubble teams lost today, one of those teams being Umass (man did they choke, I would be sick with grief if I were a Umass fan...so close) and finally, the other half of the A-10 bracket does not have any teams that could sneak in as an at-large. On our side, St Joes is the only team with a shot, and they would have to beat us, which cannot happen. Lunardi has them (UD) in his Last Four Out Category. Forde seems to have it right and has them in his "D pod" ie 4th level of "last teams out". The RPI has to be inherently flawed for them to still be ranked this high. Ken Pomeroy has them at #73 and Sagarin at #64 respectively. All biasness aside, the latter two seem to have them about where they belong.
A 5-5 last 10 along with an 8th place regular season finish and there should be absolutely no possible way they get in. They had two decent wins which both have asteriks....Louis. played without Padgett and Palacious? and Pitt without Cook the entire game, and fields for about a half. Pitt, at one time a top 5-6 team, has been out of the top 25, and did not qualify for a first round bye in their own conf. tourn.
I thought today we struck the death blow (to their at-large chances). Yet, can anyone tell me unequivically that they are absolutely no better than Nit bound? Besides the fact I despise UD (really just the fans/hilljack nation), all partisanship and prejuidice aside, they absolutely do not deserve to play in the NCAAs.
