...win Sweet Sixteens. Messrs. Davis and Stainbrook have admirably fulfilled the legacy of Xavier seniors delivering wins in March. With their recent performances, they have entered the pantheon of all-time great seniors. March on, seniors, march on.

Somebody check my math on this, but I believe that every single player who stayed at Xavier to become a Senior and entered school in 2003 or later has played in at least one Sweet 16 during his time at Xavier.

That is pretty amazing- especially since David Freaking West never did.

Definitely amazing. It was nice after the Ole Miss win hearing Mack talk about how important it was for Stain to win an NCAA tournament game. I'm still bummed Semaj never got to win one.

That is correct MOR...

Sato, Compton, Chalmers, K. Jackson, Cage, Doellman, Stanley, Finn, Cole, Caudle, Duncan, BJ, D. Brown, J. Love, Joe Hughes, Dante, King Kenny, Tu, Brad, Cheeks, J. Rob, Dee, JMart, Farr, Myles, Jalen, T. Stainbrook, B. Randolph, Larry Austin, JP, Sumner, Makinde, Tre, and S. O'Mara.

All these guys arrived as freshman and have or will Graduate with a Xavier Degree (assuming they stick around) and have all made a Sweet 16!!

VERY Impressive.

I thought Finn was dismissed from the program. Did he stay in school after that?

I heard he managed to graduate that spring.

I know this thread is about the seniors, but I've been really impressed with the upperclassmen as a whole. Farr didn't have his best game yesterday, but was HUGE against Ole Miss. And Remy has been playing some of his best ball of the season as well. We haven't seen this many upperclassmen playing this well at the same time all season, and that's been so big for this team. It's the Xavier way.

I agree, but I have a question...has Remy's hand healed? I knew it was hurt in the BE tournament. But he has been lights out since.

Actually, I think it might be even better.

David Freaking West entered Xavier in 1999. His was the last class that entered that did not play in a Sweet 16. Those that entered in 2000, played in the 2004 Elite 8, as those would have that entered in 2001 and 2002.

Unless my feeble mind is failing worse than I think, that means that EVERY Xavier player who stayed through Senior year this millinium has played in at least a Sweet 16. Can any other College Basketball program say that?

I'm sure Michigan State can, they had the ridiculous stat of every player who stayed until they were seniors under Izzo had gone to the FINAL 4! Not sure if that ended or is still active.

Really happy for both seniors but especially Dee.Like just about everyone else I doubted his ability to be a leader and he is proving us wrong. He isn't putting up quite the numbers Chalmers did in'04 but he's really playing big.Anything can happen now.I think we can surprise Arizona.Let's keep this ride going

Wait, what about some of the transfers? Andre and Philmore didn't see Sweet Sixteens, did they? Are the parameters traditional four year seniors?

Yeah, 4 year seniors. Neither did Brian Thornton.

He told the sideline reporter prior to the Butler game that his hand felt better, and since then he's gone 3 for 10 from behind the arc. Tiny sample size, but if it still hurt he probably wouldn't be making more than one. He's probably fine.

I know Dee gets a lot of hate sometimes, but I really am going to miss him. He was a great point guard and it will be tough to replace him. I hope he can continue his basketball career somewhere

Absolutely! Dee is really valuing every possession right now, showing great leadership, and making sure the guys run what they are supposed to be running. All while hitting huge shots when the opportunity presents and/or his team needs a bucket. So great to see him end his career at X like this!

Dee Davis is building his own legendary legacy.

Yeah I was one who questioned the ability of Dee but never questioned his heart or toughness and it's all come together for him and is really helping the team

I agree, and I was one of the Dee haters and was clearly wrong. From what I have see of Austin Jr., he seems like a more athletic Davis. I know he played for a legit AAU program (St. Louis Eagles).

Dee has had a history of coming alive and stepping up in big moments. You don't win 2 high school state championships by accident.

More athletic and a little bigger but not a respectable shooter.
