For your pathetic 2-8 record against X over your 4 years, including 0-6 in the last 2 years. London Warren hopes to better you by going 0-12 during his 4 years and I'll raise a glass to that.

Jimmie Binnie has been a great friend to the Xavier program. I'm glad London Warren remains to carry on the tradition.

I can't believe Jimmie Binnie scored 7 points today - to up his 3 game season total against Xavier to...7. 7 points in 3 games against Xavier. He will be missed.

Can we send Jimmie Binnie a plaque to memorialize his career vs Xavier?

If Martelli is coming to Stan's graduation, I think it's only fair - as a matter of A10 solidarity - that Miller attend Binnie's graduation as a way of saying 'thank you for everything you've done.'

Someone down at Game Day commented that Xavier was petitioning the NCAA for another year of eligibility for Binnie.

Maybe Slats will pick him up for Summer League games.

I think it's terrific that Xavier has decided to honor Jimmy Binnie's contribution by hoisting his jersey to the Cintas rafters along side Hoff, Larkin, West and Hill.

Exactly. I wish I was talented enough with the computer. Make a nice logo for our new JBS.

Of course. Everyone who wants into the Society must bring forward their favorite Jimmy Binnie Highlight. I'll start a thread.

What I think is interesting is how every year, seemingly, Dayton fans say, "Xavier, particularly their upperclassmen, are just too talented and athletic for us. But soon we will get the players to compete." Last year they complained that Cage and Doellman were too good, now it's Duncan, etc. They miss the point that Xavier is simply reloading while they never seem to bring enough talent to the mix.

I love this site. Thanks 05/07. Fantastic.

Let's have a meeting.

And when I say "meeting" let's just do nothing. Jimmy would want it that way.

Compare coaches. In 5 full years, Gregory is 6 games ahead of Miller who has four full years as head coach.

That lead may and should shrink since we are still playing and Dayton is sitting at home in the sewage

Jimmy definitely excelled at sucking, even by Dayton's (sub-)standards. It's going to be hard for any other Flyers to match his utter incompetence, but I believe Huelsman and Warren have it in them to do so. Never give up, guys!

By the way, anyone who makes up a plaque declaring Binnie to be the "Xavierhoops.com Dayton Player of the Year" and has it delivered to the UD basketball office can count on me for a $10 donation to defray costs.

Funny Story: I am in Atlantic City and we in the band were cheering for Jimmie Binnie. When Jimmie went to the free throw line we got a "Jim-mie Bin-nie" chant going and his girlfriend or someone got really upset with us.. Then Jimmie missed his Free throw. Ahh.. He will be missed.

O and count me in for $10 on the plaque as well. Jimmie was the cream of the Dayton '08 Crop.

I seriously fear that Brian Gregory will get the gate if UD does not get an invite to the NIT and make some noise therein. That said, I'm still having trouble figuring out how the hell they gave Jimmie Binnie a scholarship in the first place, let along renewed it three times after that. And London Warren? I have never since the Tay Baker years seen an alleged point guard dribble up the floor as fast and as hard as he can with his head down. By the time he looks up for a teammate, the defense has been sitting there yelling pass the damn ball.

Can the Society cover part of the costs on the cones we wouldn't want for any child to lose out on the opportunity to get their mini cones

or maybe they could have shirts with a traffic cone on the front and wording on the back saying" bring back the greatest UD player ever".

to be sponsored by the Jimmy Binny Society right? I think that would be a fabulous idea.

I enjoy the fact that everyone wants the society to put forth some effort on this, but unfortunately we will be busy, doing nothing. That's the way Jimmie wants it.

I think the talk about a great plaque is very fitting. the plaque should have fancy lights, bells and whistles and in the end we will pretty much forgot about ever actually getting it.

I'm in doing nothing sounds good. Sun. night I'm at Smokey Bones in Dayton (picking my wife up at the airport). Binnie is with a large group at the table across from me. Needless to say he is doing nothing---I think someone had to feed him. And yes he was wearing and orange shirt. True story.
