There's something about a glove, right?

Thank God we're used to carrying leagues, states, and cities on our backs, otherwise it would be a bit exhausting. Only team left from the Big East, Ohio and Cincinnati. FLAGSHIP!

"Xavier: 5th Sweet 16 appearance since 2008" has been flashing across the screen all evening.

Um, Dayton plays tomorrow.
After which, we'll be the only team in the S16 from Ohio.

Forgot about them but imagine by this time tomorrow my statement will have been proved valid nonetheless.

Yeah, no. Still wrong.

I'm not particularly impressed with Oklahoma. Would not be at all surprised if Dayton wins tomorrow unfortunately.

calm down, flyer fan. I didn't say I wasn't wrong. just forgot about them. I'm sure they'll appreciate your concern.

No fan of the Flyers but nice effort.

Not excited about this. Would much rather have 4 BE teams in the sweet 16, silencing the doubters.

Some info from the Holylandofhoops site
Xavier - first team in the New Big East to reach the Sweet 16.
2015 NCAA Tournament Payday
$255,379 - Size of this year’s “tournament unit.” The NCAA pays conferences one unit for each non-championship tournament game its members played in the past six years. That means each game played in this year’s tournament will eventually be worth at least $1.53 million for its conference, paying out over the next six years. Most conferences divide that money evenly among all members, including the ones with bad basketball teams.
Each game played = 1 unit
Round of 64: 6 games = 6 units
Round of 32: 4 games = 4 units
ST units earned: 10
Round of 16: 1 game = 1 unit (Xavier)
Round of 8: ? (projected 2)
Final Four: ? (projected 1)
Total earned units: Maximum - 13, projected 17

Might as well been right. Everyone with a brain knew they didn't stand a chance.

Matt Stainbrook: "I think we're doing a good job of representing the Big East, and I think that's something we're used to as a team and as a program. . . we're once again, sort of being the Flagship for our conference and that is nothing new for us, and don't plan on changing it."

Good to see Matt has been reading Xavier Hoops. If he had called the Big East a pisshole league (shithole league would also be accepted) and told them all to smell the Glove, then we could have been certain he got it from us.

Here (http://www.xavierhoops.com/showthread.php?18262-The-Atlantic-10-Tournament-Thread&highlight=flagship)'s the only one I could find and I can't get the image alone.

I was actually pretty creative 4 years ago.
And here's the image, although I don't know how to make it bigger either.

LOL! This is the first thing I thought of when I read Matts quote!

I'd take the quote and the ship over to Holy Land of Hoops to start fanning the hate, but I don't want to interrupt dash's work in carefully crafting our image there. Also, I'm too lazy to sign up for an account.

If bigger is better....
(There's another picture out there that somebody did (Jimmy?) that has a ship on the ocean with X symbols on the flag. Can't find it.)

It turns out we use the term flagship quite a bit - unsurprisingly. 9 pages worth of threads that somewhere within contain the word flagship. It's so exhausting to carry everyone.

Ha! They were bitching about our flagship talk last year when the league was struggling in conference. The St. John's fans were the worst, because they somehow had it in their heads that they were a top-tier team in the conference, because history!

St. John's is committed to being the Fordham of the Big East. Granted, we've already lost more to St. John's than we ever did to Fordham.
