X Marches On! I don't know about all of you, but I never doubted this team for a minute all year...

Anyways, pick your Steel Ballz performance for our glass slipper stompin' win over Georgia State.

Candidates:

Jalen Reynolds - Career high 21 points on 8/9 shooting (5/5 from the line) and 6 rebounds.

Myles Davis - 17 points on 5/8 shooting (5/8 from 3, 2/2 from the line), a rebound, and an assist. Myles hit the dagger three and the first two of the free throw parade to ice the game.

Dee (Darwin) Davis - 15 points on 3/3 shooting (1/1 from 3, 8/9 from the line), 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals. Dee completed the rest of the free throw line for the win.

Other - I just want to point out how awesome it is that we have an almost completely new list of candidates for today. This team's balance is awesome. Any day can be any one's time to shine. Legitimate other candidates for this game includes Remy for his defense on Hunter and timely offense in the first half. And Stainbrook had another solid albeit unspectacular game. But if you pick this option be sure to tell us why in the thread.

Remember, don't let the stats alone dictate your choice. Consider who had the game most worthy of Tu's Steel Ballz.

All stats from CBS GameTracker.

When the team absolutely needed a bucket, Jalen was always there.

Winner.

Real tough call. Dee played a great game, Myles hit a ton of clutch 3's, and Reynolds..

I picked Reynolds, but on second thought I'd go Dee. Not trying to be nit picky because Reynolds won the game for us practically, but be bad some bad turn overs. Again, awesome game.m

Jalen was amazing. I mean, absolutely, undeniably amazing.

But Dee sinking those FTs at the end to put the nail in the coffin and zip em up . . . Steelballz a la Tu!

The first time all year I have no idea who to pick. Think I'll go other because I want to pick Myles, Dee, and Jalen!

Let it be known that Remy Abel played some great D chasing Hunter all night.

I know we do not like to talk about the refs, but there was one in particular that was so bad, he received a substantial amount of booing in the arena. I would like to recognize the entire team, because there were two instances, in particular, where Xavier had to weather bad officiating that could have changed the momentum of the game.

Watching it live in Jacksonville was nuts. It was though this a-hole was charged with keeping GSU's cute little story going where even remotely possible.

Not there but wouldn't be surprised as xavier went all Sherman on them southern boys (miss, ga state) with unc and ark waiting to play.

They actually came with a very active Fanbase. Most of the rest of the coliseum just sat back and watched.

Well GSU has about 25k undergrad students and it is not that far of a drive for them. They should have a a large fan base.

Nomination for worst of all forever:STEVE LAPPES. EVEN AS CHRIS WAS SHAKING HANDS WITH HUNTER. HE WAS STILL TALKING ABOUT HOW GREAT GST WAS.

So many great efforts, but Dee stepped up when we needed it most. Tied at 38-38, scoop shot among the trees, found Myles for three, then Jalen for a dunk. 7-0 run and Georgia State never got closer than 4 (after which Dee hit another circus shot). I don’t think the other guys have their games unless Dee Davis handles the Panthers defenses like he did.
Not to mention the six straight FTs in the final minute in a game where he was played practically the entire game.

That pass to Myles was just sick.

I picked Dee too. He had some clutch free throws at the end and some key shots in the game, plus he kept the ship steady against a high-pressure defense. Jalen and Myles had great games too, but Dee led the team to victory.

I'm going with Myles and its only because he hasn't made anything for the last 3 weeks. He finally caught fire at the perfect time. Everyone played a great game but with Myles playing so well, JP didn't have to play much. If his ankle wasn't back to 100% before the game it will be with 4 more full days of rest before we take on the Lexus in LaLa land.

Dee Davis is playing the best ball of his career. Senior. Poised. Wouldn't be where we are without him. Jalen and Myles played well, but Dee deserves the vote folks.

Jalen,,,, he played a man's game.
The Davis boys deserve much credit also, but the big man put the ball in the hole.

I vote for all three too!

Jalen is going to be such a spectacular player for us in the future. He is right now, what a monster game.

Myles was incredible.

Consdier that both those cats came off the bench. What a load to throw at people. Our depth is fantastic.

Dee Davis has taken the last month of his Xavier career and done everything we have ever asked of him and more. That kid is in the zone and playing the best basketball of his entire career bar none. It is incredible what that man has done. And he is going to do it again. Man I love to see that. What a stud.

Dee Davis got my vote but I vote for all three. Ass Kickers for sure.

We are going to do this again, this won't be the last vote. I pity Arizona

If it is the Steel Ballz award, it has to go to the man who played 40 minutes, was perfect from the field, hit clutch shots as the shot clock ran down, went 8/9 from the line including the charity shots to ice the game, dished 5 dimes, and directed an offensive wave of mutilation. Mr. DarWIN Davis.

That being said, Xavier with Myles Davis hitting those sweet notes is a lethal proposition.

I don't think there are any bad choices....and no wrong answers.

Seriously difficult decision, and there could be long term negative ramifications for not making the right decision….

Seniority! A lot has been made of senior leadership, and rightly so, it has always been an important aspect of the Xavier Way. Dee is not only a senior leader, but he also has seniority going back to a Sweet Sixteen with the original Steel-Balz.

I am impressed with his quiet determination in leading this team late in the season and into the tourneys. Jalen is great and using his great gifts and God-given ability amazingly well - and I expect a lot more to come. Dee plays with a bit of a deficit in physical gifts compared to almost every opponent - and yet he continues to overachieve. It most assuredly takes metallic cahones to continue to compete at such a high level.

The little man has some huge shoulders along with the aforementioned testicular hardware.

Byron was absolutely correct in the post-game recap. He refused to name a single player as the star of the game. Instead, he crowned all three as the key players in the victory.
