Oh how I love the fact they were the last team in. So in honor of that disease up north here is tribute to them. Thought I bring this out of retirementhttp://youtu.be/EuoGpNXBGQQ

Would have been far better if they were the first team out of the tourney haha. But hey, they have to wear road unis and use the crappy visitor's locker room.:pointandlaugh:

Also, many of my friends from Dayton are guaranteeing they make sweet 16 this year. All I have to say is Dunn, Henton, Cooley and squad are gonna wreck them. Go Friars!!

How long has it been since a NCAA participant got to play a game on their home floor?

There goes the theory that X was put in the Play In Game last year because VD couldn't play on their own court?

They have to do away with the one Play In site for this reason. Ridiculous that Boisie St. will be put at this disadvantage.

A long time...this committee had its heads up their ass. Between UD getting to play at home, and inviting UCLA Texas and IU you wonder what kind of weed they were smoking. All 3 of those teams played lots of top 50 games,,,trouble is they lost most of those games. Anybody can play a good schedule and lose. If UD is on the fence then their out...they dont get a home game.

Dayton should be upset bc they got disrespected but I mean you get basically three home games. It beats the alternative. They could have gave them a 12 seed out west so that they didn't play at home. It's all about advancing and if Xavier got to play at home then Columbus I would be pumped.

They're already planning on their game against Providence from the Big East, "that league they should be in." Classic.

1986-87 was the last season - LSU was the notable beneficiary. They beat the #6 and #3 seeds in Baton Rouge and then beat #2 and #1 in the Southeast Regional in Atlanta.

As for Dayton itself, they WOULD have missed the tournament had UConn won today at home. Let that sink in for a moment.

Xavier dodged a MAJOR bullet by not playing them in Columbus and ultimately winding up in Villanova's region. I am very happy with this draw, all things considered.

Are you saying we should have been scared to play UD? They are well coached but nobody over 6'6 is going to kill you come tourney time. It's one thing to win in the A10 against fordham but now they have to beat real teams. If Dayton pulls off the unthinkable and wins 3 games then Archie might be the best coach ever in the history of civilization.

No. What he's saying is that had we been forced to play Dayton in Columbus, it would have meant meeting up with Villanova again (because we would, as always, end dayton's hopes and dreams of NCAA victory. Villanova is who we should be terrified to play again this year. They own us.

I'd love to argue against that, but I can't with a straight face. If anything, I'd like a shot at a different number 1 seed if need be. Next year will be a new story, enough of Nova, and all the best to them! Go Big East!

I expect Archie to get serious offers to leave UD after their season is over. Not sure if there will be a job worth leaving for, but the offers will be there. Have to admit he's done a hell of a job up there.

Didn't see this posted anywhere but is the city of Dayton seriously in the midst of the Purge?? Like seriously, you think since you host the shitty last teams in every year (yes, last year was bad) that you DESERVE a spot in the field of 64?? The DDN went from absolute garbage to Onion level worthy, this has to be satirical

At least things don't change. They are actually incredulous over the fact that they're the last team in. I think they think they played tough teams this year. So much for data and facts.

This guy apparently doesn't think we are very good. Why? Because we lost 13 games.

We also have the same number of wins against top 25 teams as Kentucky. They beat VCU at VCU. Good work. We swept GTown. Even better.

Wow, per UDPride, they have posted the contact information for Committee member Scott Barnes with the intention of writing him a letter explaining why he got their seeding wrong. For their own sake, hopefully someone will say that whining to the committee is just a fruitless and dumb idea. Stay tuned.

In Hal's bracket, he probably has No. 12 SFA over No. 5 Utah solely because SFA has better record with 29 wins and Utah only has 24.

Please let these morons email the committee chair en masse! Word will spread like wildfire and Dayton won't have to worry about seeding for quite some time.

UDPride is hilarious right now. UD fans saying how the A10 bottom feeders is the only thing that seperates the A10 and the BE and how the A10 was a much better conference than the BE last year.

Those people are flat out delusional.

I'm not so sure. Did the A10 ever have 5 receiving votes in the final poll? It's pretty simple to compare the top 6. Maybe we would've compared the top 4, but the gap definitely widens if you look at 6.

Simply hilarious to think its not a home game just bc they are using a different court, dressing in the visitor locker room and their students and band will not be sitting in their normal seats.

Sounds like excuses for a loss have already begun!

IMO we should have drawn a team like UCLA, (who doesn't at all deserve to be in) I'm glad you guys are respectful of my post. Most of the time everyone wants to talk down! I won't be in Dayton unfortunately, but im watching the Manhattan Hampton game right now, the facility is beautiful.

Dayton is 16-0 on their home court this year. Good thing there is no home court advantage in the NCAA Tournament. IMO this game should have been moved to OSU or Wright St.

If you ask UD fans they arent playing at home because it is a different court, different locker room, not their season ticket holders, and they sit on the other bench. HA!

I think "over-rated" vis-a-vis every other conference, but the Big East in particular, was a very common refrain on these boards. As was the fact that the A-10 was being disrespected because of its cellar dwellers. Just sayin'.
