We need him for offense and because he is a presence at the top of the 1-1-3, 1-3-1, amoeba, or whatever the hell we play. The "depth" issue doesn't come into play so much in the NCAA's because the time outs are soooooooooooo long. The games are obviously intense, but the breaks are often and lengthy.
Agreed. I don't think depth for physical fatigue is an issue in the tournament. However, JP is vital to a lot of the things that we could do like you mentioned with the Zone D, and it is always nice to have that instant offense kind of guy off the bench that without him, we don't necessarily have.

I guess that Lance Goss's bracket is busted already...since he had BYU beating Xavier and all.......
I tweeted at him this morning that he was an assclown for picking the Mormon Tabernacle Choir over our beloved Muskies.

Well, bringing in Remy or Myles should provide some offense off the bench, along with Jalen. Our bench scoring isn't awful, but part of that is because of who we start.

Not saying its awful, but Myles is really struggling just as he did last year...not to that degree but he seems to have trouble breaking out of slumps once he goes in them. I hope he does break out of it though, it would definitely lessen the load for some of the other guys. Remy has been a bit of a disappointment offensively in my opinion. I thought he could really be that slasher, get to the hoop and draw a foul kind of guy...we see flashes but he is very inconsistent.

I'm not sure why Remy gets so many shots blocked when he goes to the hoop. He's as strong as an ox and quick to the basket, but when he gets there he can't seem to finish through contact. We'll need all of his weapons from now on though.

I like our chances so much better than against the white boys.
Ole Miss is a hard team to figure out. They looked very legit at Kentucky, and they absolutely torched Arkansas at Arkansas. At other times, they look just awful.

Well, the game Thursday is going to be fun. I won't be in Jacksonville, so the next best thing is for me to organize a Xavier watch corner at the Buffalo Wild Wings Ole Miss watch party. I won't have any problem finding people in town to root against Ole Miss. Convincing them to ditch their maroon for a while to wear blue is a different matter.

By the way, I don't know much about Ole Miss boards, but I do go to secrant.com when we do play SEC teams. There is an Ole Miss page there, but you have to request access. The general board is easier to get on. It is not a place for the easily-offended though. Fair warning.

LOL, no. That avi is sort of a joke. That is the Pippi Longstockings girl that grew up to be the porn star. I need to go back to an old standard.
I have been fine. I did a stint in NYC with a new business that I started. It was about 10 times more complicated than I thought it should be, but it is running well now.
Football in MS was fun last fall. MSU and Ole Miss both had nice runs. Injuries finally caught up with both squads, but 2015 looks pretty promising again.

Oh, she's not in my household any longer, so no worries. We're still buds, so we do have a friendly wager on the game. If Xavier wins, she will pay me the $5,000 that I loaned her 7 years ago. If Ole Miss wins, I will delete the pictures that she accidentally sent to my email rather than to Mr. Miss Muskie's email. At first I was like, "Oh crap, I am getting spammed with porn", and then I was like, "Wait. I know that person."

You should just post those on the X Lounge first. That way you will have deleted them from your email, but you can come visit them whenever you want.

LOL. Believe it or not, one of the first things she said to me after I told her that she sent me the pictures by mistake was "I hope you don't share them with your make believe friends from Xavier."

"I hope you dont" isnt nearly as stern as "dont you dare". You may have an opening here.

There are some people on here that I sure hope are make believe.
They had very few half court possessions. Crisp passing though.
They didn't use the entire half court early, they seemed to shoot and make it just past the half court line. I went to bed at halftime. That must have changed. I am shocked, but I think pleased. I didn't want to play the first half BYU team. The team that came back and beat them scares me too.
Edit: I interrupted something far more important upstream - my bad! Carry on.

BYU gave up really easy points in the paint, threw away the ball and got burned in transition. They tried to clamp down inside and then got burned with wide open 3's. Honestly, they played NO defense.
