I'm not sure why but UD is quickly becoming my new team to hate after Thuggy Bear left & now UC has hit the skids. I know that might be giving them too much credit but I'm really starting to hate UD. I want X to rip them a new a-hole.

I think it has to do with UD's fans. I mean UC has been down the past couple of years so they can't really say anything and with Huggy gone it takes some of the sting out of hatred for UC, while UD fans no matter if they are good, bad, terrible are always horrible.

ud fans are basically the stereotypical chicago cubs fans but more delusional

UD sucks big time. With each and every year they redefine what it is to blow. They started out blowing goats, and have since graduated to donkeys, horses, and even the occasional elephant. That is how much UD blows. They just have to keep setting the bar higher and higher, untill eventually they will be blowing whales.

Do you leave Jimmie Binnie completely unguarded? Have his defender rove and double-team?

I want Jimmie Binnie to cry all the way back to his double wide.

The Dayton Daily News has come down with a similar ailment to that of the Flyers Basketball team - living in the past. See Doellman on the front page: http://www.daytondailynews.com/
Not that remembering Doellman would serve them at all, but again, these are sick people.

And according the probable starters at the bottom of the article, our entire starting five is seniors and Derrick Brown is 6'5.

i hate to say it, but i've also noticed the similarities. neither team has accomplished much, but both have tons of annoying fans that won't shut up about all the great things they haven't done.

at least the cubs have made the playoffs in recent years, and look like they're FINALLY getting somewhere (although i don't know enough about baseball to know whether or not they'll be good this year). if dayton loses today, it will be the fourth year in a row they haven't gotten past the quarterfinals....of the atlantic ten.

Wow, I just got compared to a dayton fan. That's a real kick to the balls on this 100th anniversary of the last Cubs championship. Say what you want though, we sure do know how to have good time at Wrigley, especially in the bleachers. Not to mention the fact that we're not a bunch of hilljacks living in a craphole town like most Crier fans.

What's our alternative? To just shut up and not say anything?

There's really nothing positive to say about 90% of the time. If we focus on Wrigley (the positive...well I guess. Tribune has slowly gone about trashing the place over the last 5 years), we're accused of being "uneducated beer swillers" who are only there for the ambience.

Can't win.

(Oh sorry...there we go whining again)

0-6 the past 2 seasons. Ouch. It sure must suck to be a UD Cryer!

I loved the exasperated look on the Midget's face at the end.

How fitting to end Brian Robert's career against X. Brian is a good player, but boy does X and especially Stanley Burrell own him!

It's so weird. Dayton's lead in the all-time series is vanishing rather rapidly. I think it was around 30 games when I was a student (which wasn't long ago) and now it's down to 13.

Brian Gregory is now 3-10 against Xavier.

At least their fans get to see him again in a sold out NIT home game. No NCAA tourney appearances for one of the supposed best players in your program's history. HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Yeah, I can't remember who has this in their signature file, but they should update it to say:

Dayton doesn't play in the NCAA tournament, but they host it along with some nice NIT games.

The analogy I had in mind was the "wait til next year" quotes. dayton fans always seem to claim this. I just read on the UDPride board that Marcus Johnson is NBA bound and that dayton will average 72-75 points next year...

It used to be my sig and it said:

Dayton: We host the NCAA, not play in it
Xavier: We play in the NCAA, not host it

I'll buy a beer for the first person to recognize my new quote in my sig.

Arrested Development, god that was a great show. Nice avatar of Mr. Bananagrabber to go with it too.

Looks like ThrowDownDBrown wins the beer. You're right, the avatar of Mr. Bananagrabber adds a nice touch. It is a great show and have been watching it a lot recently. I hope they go through with the movie now that the writers strike is over.
