Wednesday was an overall good day for X as Providence helped cement the #6 seed in the BE tournament and UC pushed Tulsa to the edge of the bubble. Tonight has a lot of game out there that can help X's profile. FGCU in the semis of conference tournament trying to get close to 100 rpi but will probably come up short. LBSU and SF Austin are another story as they both have winnable game to get themselves to top 50 and 100 in RPI respectively. The biggest game of the night is most likely Davidson's last ditch effort to get a nice quality win when VCU enter's North Charlotte to take on the Wildcats. Additionally, Stanford bubble life support will be DOA with a loss at ASU and Temple cannot afford a bad loss to E. Carolina at this point.

Happy Viewing.

Pulling for SFA to not only keep winning for selfish Xavier reasons, but also because they are a nice sleeper pick if they make the tourney. Their offense was so fun to watch. Have a hunch that Walkup and Parker will be a big story come March.

Temple will most likely be joining Xavier in Dayton. They might even play each other!

You know what they should do? Put Xavier against UC in Dayton. That would spice things up. And with UC's dreadful offense and Xavier's complex with playing complete games, they both deserve to go to that dump.

Kentucky is going to be the #1 seed in Louisville. Ohio State, Cincinnati, Xavier, Dayton or Indiana will be playing in the 8/9 game. The committee will call it a coincidence.

Absolute 100% fact. I don't know why the committee keeps this narrative that they don't group teams for storylines or regional rivalries.

Florida Gulf Coast was down by 3 with a second left and was fouled shooting a three...but missed the last free throw and loses by a point.

They're on my list of sleepers, but certainly not on the top of it. Then again, they weren't last year either.

I think they have four top 200 wins. I just can't get too excited about that.

Davidson is absolutely taking it to VCU. That team might be your sleeper.

Is VCU in danger of missing the Tournament? They have to be getting close to the danger zone.

More like VCU is the biggest FRAUD in all of basketball!!!! (am I doing that right, MOR?) But seriously, VCU has completely fallen apart without Weber. Will be interesting to see what the committee does with them, especially if they lose in an early A10 tourney round.

That hurts us, right? But the folks in Spartanburg are happy tonight.

Agreed. If that becomes the case, wonder if VCU will get the Patty Mills/St. Mary's treatment and get left out of the tournament altogether. They are a shell of what they once were, and have quite frankly not been a tournament-caliber team since Weber went down.

Mills was actually able to play in the postseason, too, whereas there is no chance of Weber returning. Didn't SMC play a hastily-arranged game after the WCC tournament in an effort to show Mills could go?

You may be right, but I don't recall.

VCU right now is just not a good team.

Fair enough. I enjoy their style of play and it's a great equation for an upset. Granted they don't play anybody, but their ability to score so efficiently (I think their 3rd in nation in apg and 11th in ppg) puts pressure on the already pressing higher seed. They've been there before and have 2 guys who could start on many high D1 teams.

Iona is another sleeper. So so talented.
