If anyone hasn't seen this show, I highly recommend it. Vice is an investigative journalism show on HBO. This show aired Sunday night. Its currently on HBO On Demand and because of the response it got, HBO allowed it to be shown on YouTube.

Unbelievably jaw dropping news report on how doctors are starting to not only treat, but cure cancer. They are using modified viruses to attack and kill cancer tumors. There has been success using the measles virus, small pox and at one hospital in Philadelphia, with 30 patients being treated with a modified HIV virus, there has been a 90% success rate with total remission. A hospital in Houston is trying to treat cancer using the cells of the common cold.

After watching this news report, this is the most optimistic I've ever been on the issue of treating and curing cancer.

Here is the youtube link for anyone interested:

On a side note, I would recommend watching all the Vice shows on HBO On Demand....they do go work and investigate a lot of interesting things going on throughout the world.

My daughter is an orthopedic surgeon in residency at the University of Pennsylvania. Obviously not an oncologist, but the discussions about some of this stuff center upon today's computing power and what that means to the field of medicine. We aren't at Star Trek/Dr. Bones yet, but technology is rapidly advancing progress in this entire area.

You may even be interested to know that the Xavier Center For Innovation cranked up its 3-D Printers to literally create a prosthesis for a Golden Retriever - I think that was the breed; it was missing a portion of its left front paw.

From advances in cancer to dog paws, the medical world is going nuts right now.

I saw this the other day after listening to Shane Smith on a podcast. What's even more awesome is that Shane Smith and Vice have such a following (and tons of money) that this story isn't going to go away like most possible cure stories do.

I wish I could remember the guy, but there was a story about him (maybe on 60 minutes) and how he hope to cure some cancers by doing something genetically with the patients own cells. Can't remember the particulars but it was incredible. He was also I think a little outside the mainstream in his approach...almost sounded radical. Had his own money in it from maybe a tech company sale or something.

Are you doing a comedic bit here? Hehe. Just busting balls. But I've read your post twice and just laughed...stream of consciousness post.
