The Streak is in REAL danger

I know many are worried this year. I am terrifed after Creighton and St. Johns came into the Cintas and walked away victorious and Villanova beat X up in the second half today. Only one game remains to somehow, someway, keep the streak alive. X has not had a less than .500 conference record since the 1981-1982 season when our beloved Musketeers finished 1-11 in the MCC.

No other team has finished .500 or better in conference over the last 32 consecutive seasons. Not Kansas, Kentucky, Arizona, Duke, Syracuse, Gonzaga, Memphis, North Carolina, no member of the former or current Big East, not any team EXCEPT our Xavier University Musketeers.

A tradition of winning second to none that may all come crashing down in Omaha of all places. Come on X!

But that was a really fun game to remember. I remember the game. I don't remember that player at all.

Brit was in the game at that point because Darnell Williams (then a freshman) was out with flu-like symptoms.

And that was a lineup with two freshmen (Lenny Brown and Gary Lumpkin) and two sophomores (TJ Johnson and Pat Kelsey) in addition to Brit. Fun times indeed.

It was a blast from the past X Band. Seeing Leo Murray celebrate, and Kevin Carr in the huddle brings back a few memories.

Creighton is not good this year, and we owe them. We have a full week to prepare for one game, and if we can't beat them, we don't deserve an NCAA bid. I know how difficult it is to play and win there, but McBuckets is gone...Kyle Korver is gone...they don't have that kind of team this year.

I just don't see how we make the tournament, especially if we get swept by the second to last place team in the Big East.

i agree. i will be there and expect nothing but a great day of xavier basketball. i'm 2-0 in games this year(mizzou and FGC) and that's not changing on my watch damnit.

Thank God and anyone else repsonsible for winning this game today. My first season as a fan was the 1982-83 season and I haven't experienced a losing conference record or a Dayton loss in Cincinnati during my entire Xavier fan career. I am very happy this streak is continuing although I would appreciate reaching .500 much earlier in the future. My heart can't take this stuff as well anymore.
