Read on Twitter today that '15 Philly PG Traci Carter is taking an official visit to Xavier this weekend and will be at the Cintas Center when 'Nova visits Saturday. He is also set to formally visit Marquette next weekend for their Senior Day. Also being recruited by Seton Hall and UConn.
Is he viewed as the replacement for Brandon Randolph?

Odds are we lose either Randolph or Sumner here. No way we carry 4 PGs on the roster with Myles also on the team.

I agree but why is Sumner even being mentioned? I can see Randolph but I'm confused as to why Sumner is even being broght up...

I thought we weren't supposed to speculate about players leaving until an announcement has been made, out of respect for them and their families or something like that...
But anyways, it looks like he has a loooong list of offers at this point, and we are one of two schools he is officially visiting. So without knowing any real details about his recruitment, I'd say we're in a pretty good position.

You take talent when you can. If you can make your roster better you do.
Summer is a combo guard. Randolph is a combo guard (or scoring point guard), Austin is the only true point on the roster next year.

@jeffborzello: 2015 point guard Traci Carter confirms he will announce his college decision tomorrow. Has visited Marquette and Xavier in recent weeks.

Any idea how good Carter is? It says he is 6’, was kinda hoping X could get more size at the guard position.

Edmond Sumner is going NOWHERE.....other than the Cintas court next year.

I would be surprised if he picks Xavier. We have Austin, Randolph, Sumner, and even Myles Davis who are capable at point. Marquette has no one.

It seems like he is headed to Marquette unless they are trying some misdirection for the announcement.
He cancelled a few visits and set an announcement right after visiting Marquette.
Here (http://zagsblog.com/recruiting/traci-carter-poised-to-announce-tuesday/) is an article about his announcement including quotes from his dad. His dad only mentions one school...
Carr and Carter seemed particularly impressed with what Marquette had to offer.
“I liked the commitment and the support of the [Marquette] men’s basketball program from top to bottom, starting with the President of the University and the Athletic Director down to the coaching staff, the academic support team and team managers,” Carr told SNY.tv on Sunday. “They have a great fan base and everyone involved with the program has one common goal, to do their part to make sure Marquette basketball is successful.”
Carr likes how head Marquette coach Steve Wojciechowski would use Carter, who plays alongside uncommitted wing Malik Ellison, son of head coach and former No. 1 NBA Draft pick Pervis Ellison.
“Because of Marquette’s need for a true point guard, Traci would be given a chance to lead the program from day one,” Carr said. “In addition to that, he would be learning from a coach who played his position in college at Duke and coached under arguably one of the top three coaches in college basketball history for the last two decades. Also, Marquette has a staff full of former college point guards who all played in major conferences.”
Committed to Marquette today.
