Just read this also. Great article. Did a great job summing up the rivalry, and all the dynamics around it.
Mo had a nice follow up interview with the author Mark Titus. Here's a link to the Podcast: http://www.espn1530.com/onair/mo-egger-9170/my-interview-with-mark-titus-on-13274589/

this seems like its a pretty accurate view of the Xavier-uc rivalry from most people outside of the realm of these schools and the city of Cincinnati.

I thought there was quite a bit of suckage.
But I guess I shouldn't complain about someone willing to write a story on the Shootout.

Like the the BoDeans tune "Good Things" this is some great stuff. I recall at graduation in 1988 my roommate's uncle, also an X grad, told me "You guys won 3 out of 4 shootouts...we were ecstatic we won 1 out of 4". Times have changed. Excellent read. Thanks you for posting. Go X!

It's 11:31pm, February 20, 2015. The SucKing by uc continues.
By the way did I say. I hate the Borecats? I do. F-em, really F-em!

So, how do you really feel? Do you hate UC more than you love X? Can you hope for UC to win out to make our win look better? Life is so damn complicated!

the two schools are so close that when Xavier farts, UC smells it.
Sharing Dana's with our crosstown rival.

I didn't read the whole article. Did he get into the catholic vs convict storyline of the Huggins era? Did graduation rates get talked about? Seriously, who's Super Bowl is it now? UC fans can no longer play that card. I love how the tables have turned. I love the fact that were in a much, much better league. Who looking up to who now? I think that answer is very clear. Keep talking about your titles from 50 years ago. That is all you have left.

Whenever any SucKS fan brings up their titles, I remind them that Loyola Chicago won a National Championship more recently than the Borecats.

I laughed out loud:
Are You Sure There Aren’t Any Other Videos That Give a Good Idea of How Heated the Rivalry Is?
But then I got pissed about Yancy Gates not being suspended for the entire year or thrown out of school for aggravated assault on Kenny Frease. Shoving a guy who's in your face, sure? Taking a swing at a guy in your face, not cool, but it happens. Cold-cocking a guy who's being held back and doesn't see it coming?
Yancy's ass (and Frease's eye socket) was saved by the fact that Gates sUCks too much to even be able to land a punch on an unsuspecting victim.

You know, SucKS is still pulling the same crap that they've done for years.
Octavious Ellis was kicked out of school for assaulting someone in a Cincinnati establishment. He goes to Junior College for two years, and because YTG's recruiting is so bad, Ellis is brought back to school so that the Borecats have a big man.
Typical Clifton move. That is being added to my list of why I hate SucKS.
