Are we still in play for Naji Hibbert from DeMatha next year?
I believe so. However, I haven't read anything on him in a while. I believe we are in his Top 5.

Any relation to Roy? I think Roy Hibbert went to Georgetown Prep, though.

i am not sure where we stand with him, but i did see him play in the WCAC tournament. He played well in the first half the game i saw and dissappeared in the second, then again so did his whole team. He definitely has a chance to be a very good ballplayer (and that's a compliment considering I graduated from Dematha's arch rival). I hope that we get him.

Just read that Naji Hibbert has verballed to Texas A&M. He apparently was down to them and us.
Not sure exactly why the staff was targeting a SG. I would think we'd look more for a pure SF and maybe a PF/C for 2009.

Well, now that he is not coming, maybe the staff can refocus to our obvious needs which you have pointed out.
This kid can play. Too bad he isn't coming to Xavier.

Xavier has three and arguably 4 guards coming in next year. I think it's a credit to the staff that the guy still had an interest in playing here.

At 6' 6" he could play the SF or the SG position.

4 guards, 6'0", 6'0", 6'1" and 6'4" against the nation's elite teams that is not enough size. I could sell playing time if both BJ and CJ are both gone and you could also play against bigger 2 guards.
Good luck to Naji in Aggieland.

HUH? We were one of the nation's elite teams this year with 5'7" and 6'3" guards.

Yeah the guards for Kansas were 6-1, 6-1 & 5-11 yet they still won the whole thing. Size at Guard is nice but you can be very successful in college with smaller guards.

Drew wishes he was 5'7...
