Question, though. Which college teammate spent time in prison? I'm drawing a blank.

What's funny about that article is that Price was mad because Harper (who is killing it at Western Kentucky now) was offering 3 semesters of school for one semester of basketball. He essentially thought Kentucky Wesleyan should let him take three semesters of classes on basketball scholarship without ever playing basketball for the school. Makes sense Lloyd. Can't imagine why KWC didn't jump at that offer!

Andre Smith (played for X during 1993-1995) is in prison for murdering a man. Son of Bingo Smith. Sad story. He was a cool nice guy but a gigantic ego!

That was about the lamest celebration I have ever seen from a team that just won a championship. Good for them but think even they know it isn't as gratifying when you just completely stack your side.
It probably cost him about $20 mil, but I'm very happy for our CHAMPION!

7th in the NBA in payroll. The Cavs spent 21 million more. The Cavs could have done this but General Manager Lebron effed it up when he made Dan Gilbert pay Tristan 15 mill, Shumpert 10 mill, and JR Smith 12 mill.

I think Durant is the only "hired" gun they brought in. They drafted Curry, Thompson and Green which are the core of that team minus KD.
Cleveland only drafted Irving and Thompson (and Thompson is extremely overrated and over paid). Shumpert, Smith, Love and LeBron were all brought in as free agents or through trades.

All true...its just the hired gun was the second best player in the NBA joining a 73 win team.
Cavs have to find something for love to compete. He is about the most worthless 19 and 11 guy I have ever seen.

What are you going to get for Love that would be an upgrade? He is a really good player. You can't find floor spacers like him anywhere. His D has improved and he is a good passer. Realistically the Cavs need better perimeter defense to counter GS. You can only hide Kyrie for so long. I actually think the core of Lebron, Kyrie, Love can compete with GS, but not for very much longer.
Adding Durant seems unfair but hats off to their front office for pulling it off. I don't blame Durant for going to GS, as all these guys are judged on championships. That said this seems slightly tainted or with an *. How great would it have been if he won in OKC?
Congrats to DFW, NBA Champion.

This is exactly how I feel on it as well. Love is still a top echelon player. You just don't realize he's there as much because Lebron and Kyrie have the ball so much. It's the same thing that happened to Bosh. Kevin still shoots a great percentage and rebounds. Unless you'd rather see them run the offense through him on the block?? But that's not going to compete with GSW. I honestly don't know if Cleveland could realistically add anyone to beat them. Not when KD is playing like that, and especially not when they get 20 from AI like last night.
From NBA fan perspective, just praying San Antonio and Boston could add another couple guys. I honestly don't mind the "super team" or stacked teams because it's awesome to watch. Just wish there was 4 or more teams to make it more interesting come playoff time

The Cavs are capable of playing great defense, they just choose not to. If they truly committed to the defensive end, they could be champions with that team. Pathetic letdowns on defense in multiple games. You have to grind every possession in the Finals, and they simply get lazy - and LeBron and Kyrie are two of the worst offenders.

UCLA also won their first 10 titles in a 12-year stretch from 1963-64 through 1974-75. Sandwiched in between were Texas Western (1965-66) and a perfect NC State team in 1973-74. And there was also an 88-game winning streak that was thrown in for good measure as well.

Love is a great player, but if you want to beat a team as stacked as GS, he can't be your 3rd best player. Unfortunately, because the bonehead GM wanted to pay JR, Thompson and Shumpert $40 million next year, it won't be as simple as signing PG13 to create a big 4.
My bet is Lebron gets his panties tied in a bunch, Love gets moved, and CLE makes a run at PG13 or Melo.

Melo?
Did you see how lazy LeBron and Kyrie were on defense on several possessions? Melo makes their defensive effort look stellar.
Getting Melo would be a complete step in the wrong direction for them. Why don't they just get DWade too.

GSW can put on the floor:
A top-5 player (Durant)
Two more top-10 players (Curry, Green)
A top-25 player (Thompson)
A top-50 player (Iguodala)
Their talent evaluation and development has been stellar. Replacing Harrison Barnes with Kevin Durant is...something I'm not even sure how to describe.
I'd pick GSW over the Eastern Conference All-Stars.

Diminutive? The guy is a bit skinny, but he's still 6'3", which is just over average height for an NBA point guard.

Warriors’ David West says taking less money was worth it to win a title (https://theundefeated.com/features/warriors-david-west-win-2017-nba-title/)
What do you think about people who have ridiculed you for taking a smaller salary than was offered to stay with the Indiana Pacers in hopes of winning a title with the San Antonio Spurs and Warriors?
That s— don’t matter. You put material wealth or material riches over things that will change you as a human being. And at the end of the day, we’re human beings. Everyone is caught up in this material world and the things and the things and the things. The Egyptians couldn’t take those things with them. You can’t take it with you.
So, you need moments that later in life that no amount of money will overvalue it. Taking that money in Indiana wouldn’t feel like this. I’m just telling you. It wouldn’t. It’s not even close. With my background from where I’m coming from, I tell people all the time about my story. Nobody really knows it fully, but it’s the truth, man.
I’m not supposed to be here. Everybody was supposed to be better than David West. Fourteen years, man.

Ditto. And yeah, I thought the question phrasing was a little... off. Even the people criticizing him were really just on about the whole "ring chasing" aspect (and taking less money was just incidental to that). Of course, I don't understand anyone giving him a hard time for "ring chasing" either. Durant, I can at least understand--he's still in his prime, and the team he left had the Warriors on the ropes last year in the playoffs. Even still, dude got his, and it's all within the rules, so can you really blame him?
As for DFW, I guess I couldn't really care less about the idea of "ring chasing." The man paid his dues, and had a nice career. I guess I view it sort of like some of the partners at my office. Sure, many of them are still out there grinding, but some of them have already done that and now live pretty cushy lives, doing just enough work and raking in the dough off of annuity clients. Will they make as much as the true rainmakers? No, but they can enjoy things outside the office with more ease. Similarly, D West already put in work for years, and was part of some good teams. Now, an opportunity comes up to join the ride with arguably the greatest team ever assembled and experience what it's like to be an NBA champion? Shoot, sign me up.

He's as untouchable as there is... ironically he could have been a Cavalier if the Cavs had not won the tiebreaker coin flip with New Orleans before the draft lottery. Instead the Cavs drafted 4th and took Dion Waiters.
